Sailed through this year as usual. The online downloading of financial data from banks, brokers etc is flawless. Moving back and forth or checking a particular aspect seems to be easier than before. No complaints.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax experience gets better each year.
What's not so great: Going into the weeds on any tax issue is daunting. Not Turbo Tax's fault.

I have used the Intuit programs for a long time. It would be terrible to have to do it all "by hand" like in the old days....I remember back in the 50's-70's wearing out many pencils and erasers before I was ready to ink in a final copy. I started with Mac-Tax but it has been TurboTax for at least the last ten years. With your program, I can take the mystery out of some of the IRS rules and changes by trying hypothetical situations. Best wishes for the future.
What's great about it: Detail is thorough.
What's not so great: Could be easier to go from steps to forms and back.

Formats

I have been using Turbo Tax for 15+ years. However, it is very annoying that every year the format changes. I keep coming back basically because I can import info from the prior year. One of these times, I may just change. I also use the Business version.
What's great about it: Importing information from the prior year saves a lot of time
What's not so great: Please stop changing the format every year. It is very annoying!

Same Old problems

My experience is overall fairly good. However,
1. You have the same problem this year as last with extra spaces to be filled in in the IA Int and Div forms that can't be by passed.
2. On foreign income and credits you as a lot of questions in review that should have been asked during the completion phase instead of forcing us to go back to the forms and figure out the answers when we think we are done. PLEASE FIX THIS BEFORE NEXT YEAR. I HAD 72 BLANKS TO FIX.
3. I had several places in myI return that simply didn't pick up the information from my Fed return forcing me to enter manually.
4. It was not clear on the IA return whether you would pick up the Sub S income source until after answering the other income and adjustment question. If I had not done TT before I would have found this even more confusing.
What's great about it: Relatively good guidance
What's not so great: Some fields are not interactive, some real glitches in the procedure

poor state return design vs prior years

both AZ & IA state returns were extremely difficult to complete with terrible, or non-existent explanations regarding input requirements.
IA could not be completed correctly without overrides, and overrides prevented E-Filing! After repeated rejected submissions (and rejected corrections from usingTurboTax prompts,) I filed IA by mail... without a refund of my E-File fee!

I will probably look for a different vendor for my Tax needs next year

excellent way to do taxes

I will probably keep coming back... many years using Turbo and it just gets easier... I should buy Quicken and make it even easier.
What's great about it: been using Turbo for 6 or 7 years.. love it
