excellent product however could be more user friendly in Review for Error area when errors show. Where the error area relates to the interview section would be helpful along w/ the entered data in specific. In investment reporting product could be user friendly w/ more side explanations. DO like the explanation opportunities already offered. Very helpful and time-saving. The evolution of this product is very good and especially since IRS makes this work as difficult as possible, it seems.
What's great about it: interview sections are good at prompting questions for specific sections are good.
What's not so great: got stuck in a 'loop' for a section. In Review / Problems area it difficult to know where error was made in interview.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Unfortunately we made a critical error which turbo tax caught in less than 5 minutes. We were able to correct and refile at no cost in less than 10 miutes.

Disappointed

Fine all the way to the end and then wouldn't let me e-file. I paid the state e-file fee to Turbo Tax, but then repeatedly I was asked to update before e-filing and each time it was rejected. Finally decided to print forms and mail them in myself. I'm still out the state e-filing fee.
Have enjoyed Turbo Tax for years; not this time.
What's great about it: Have used for five years. Easy.
What's not so great: Glitch at the end

I've used Turbo Tax for many years. Great software program that guarantees accuracy and calculates the lowest tax.

Loyal Turbo Tax User

I have used TT for over 10 years and am a loyal user and believer in the product. I used TT for businesses as well.another excellent product The only time I see a tax accountant is to discuss tax strategies for the future. I wouldn't pay someone to fill out the forms!

Validation Error was only problem

My biggest issue this year was with e-filing. When I tried to file, I got a "Validation" error message. Not what you want to hear when filing taxes. I tried to resolve it myself and then searched online for a solution. Intuit had posted a fix which I found after searching "Turbotax validation error 2013". Several other searches revealed horror stories from previous years. I tried the first suggested fix and it worked great.
In some areas, like the Foreign Income area, I have to work my way through several fields that don't apply to me. There should be a way to bypass that at the beginning. "Do you recieve any income from any foreign source?". A "no" in that area would save me a lot of trouble.
What's great about it: I like the way the program "prompts" you and I like that it gives detailed information about the required documentation
What's not so great: Should have a "skip section" button for areas like Foreign Accounts/Assets.

In TurboTax I Trust

Over all, I was able to follow everything; however, because the firms I work for don't deduct local city tax from my payroll, it was a bit confusing to locate where to designate these monies I paid directly to the city. After asking the question in the "help" box, I was directed where these entries are to be made. Thank You!
What's great about it: Relatively Simple To Follow
What's not so great: Just one, trying to locate City Taxes not Payroll Deducted
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
