In 2012 I was helped by TurboTax staff on a difficult item. They spent about an hour on the phone with me, making sure the solution was correct.
What's great about it: Help from the TurboTax staff.
What's not so great: Hard to follow entry of non-taxable dividends on form 1099
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I HAVE BEEN USING TURBOW TAX FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS. BEING 72 YRS. OLD IT IS A GREAT HELP ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM A COMPUTER WHIZ OF ABOUT 40 YEARS. I LIKE TO BE IN CONTROL OF MY MONEY.
What's great about it: BRINGS UP LAST YEARS INFO FOR USE

my view of turbo tax

its nice to have e file, and i've used turbo tax since it began years ago. Each year it gets more complicated. I suspect it because the tax laws change every year and are more complex.
the questions are confusing, even more so, simplification is best, if possible, the software is in need of simplification

Problem with Amendment

I have used Turbo Tax for many years but this is the first time I had to amend a return. I had to amend Federal return because I already efiled. That was not a problem but then my return showed the new amounts. OK. But I had not filed my state return, and it show the amended with forms for amending. Confusing. And it kept telling me that I had efiled my state and not to send in forms. But I had not as yet filed, so forms did have to go in. Very confusing and possible could trigger audit.
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Does not differentiate filed return from amendment

MAJOR PROBLEM WITH ELECTRONICALLY FILING

I do taxes for my mother. When I tried to file electronically I got two errors that the Federal return had been rejected and because of that the state return was also rejected. I was asked for the 2012 AGI and it matched what TurboTax had entered. However it was still rejected. I tried to change to putting in a PIN number from the IRS but I couldn't do it without having to wait for a live person for over 15 minutes so I gave up.
This is the first time in over 10 years that I have had any problems with TurboTax. It may have something to do with the AGI being a negative number or that my father passed away in 2012 and that my mother's 2013 return was not a joint return. Anyway it wasn't a great experience but that won't keep me from using TurboTax
What's great about it: I have always had good results with TurboTax
What's not so great: Had to file by mail because IRS kept refusing electronic filing

I have used Quicken products for 20+ years both home and business. This year has been the worst yet.
Newest version of Quicken Home & Business 2014 will not allow down loads from bank. And TurboTax will not let me E-File, I receved error IND 510. Contacted IRS and was told TurboTax is having a lot of this problem, TurboTax said I would have to mail in return.

IRS issued 6 digit PIN does not work

For the second year in a row, the IRS 6 digit PIN they issued me for identity theft does not work, DESPITE following the programs directions. I will not buy this product again.
Why, prior to e filing, am I given a choice of 2 options, to use my prior years AGI or a PIN. I select the AGI and the program STILL requires a 5 digit PIN.
