Excellent overall. The foreign tax credit information required
is difficult to understand and for me was not worth the effort.
It appears, I got at least one or two errors on Master Limited
Partnership K-1s asking for more information that was
not initially requested in the questionnaire. One had to do
with foreign tax credit.

Screen Questions/confirmation

Some screens ask a yes/no question using the blue "continue" buttons, as in choosing "YES" or "NO" to continue.
Some screens list items then include a "Non of the above" choice before clicking the blue "continue" button.
Some screens put yes/no choices in the screen before clicking the blue "continue" button.
All screens should have YES/NO/CONTINUE in the same place and same format.
What's not so great: Each screen ends in a different way

Decent software

Overall product is good for general home owners. Would like to see something where deductions are being compared to standard deduction as deductions are being entered. This might aid individual in determining if it is worth their while to continue entering deductions or to stop and just take the standard deduction. This could be done by showing the standard deduction and reducing it by the deductions as they are entered.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: To much advertising

Good But

The problems I had follow:
1. I could not get the proof of filing my New York State tax return electronically to print.
2. When I clicked on the area to print a copy of the return to review I was not able to print the return then and I was already asked to certify I had reviewed the return. I had to continue to the next step to print a return. These steps are in reverse order.
3. I received a refund of both my Federal and NY State taxes this year and I could apply a portion of my NY State refund towards my 2014 estimated taxes but could not do that for my Federal tax refund. Did I miss something or doesn't the Federal Government allow this ?
I have been using Turbo Tax since 1998 and will continue to use it . What I specifically like is that if I make an error I can fix it and the correction updates all calculations dependent upon the corrected item.
I also like that I get a nice clean copy of my return that looks and is professional. I also like that I can print all of the worksheets for my files.
This is the first year I have filed electronically and Turbo Tax has made that easy.
What's great about it: I believe my returns are accurately prepared.
What's not so great: Not as easy to follow as I would like.

the information screen at the right kept on giving me error messages. If TT was aware of this they should have notified users about the issue.
Further more -- can't you fix the program so one does not have to scroll down all the time to continue to the next screen --extremely annoying.

Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TRYING TO ANSWER MY QUESTION BY SHOWING ME THE ANSWERS TO OTHER PEOPLES SIMILAR QUESTIONS TENDED TO BE DISTRACTING. HOWEVER, AFTER PICKING AROUND IN THE BONES FOR A WHILE I FOUND SOME BITS I COULD USE.
What's great about it: TOOK ME THROUGH THE PROCESS SIMPLY
What's not so great: HELP SECTION?
