I've used TurbloTax for more years than I remember. It gives me the tools, including ability to print schedules, to follow complicated transactions through various schedules. I like the way I can work on schedules without having to use the interview question method.
What's great about it: Ability to alternate between doing it myself or using interview; carryforward of information from 2012; ItsDeductible.
What's not so great: Need to look at printed copy to follow flow of the more complex transactions for LTCG, sales of rental property, AMT

Good program

The program is pretty good. Just a few quibbles. The first was that you you couldn't chose or create a new folder in the save function. You could only choose from a list. The second was that if you have to change data that you downloaded you needed to delete the old info. At least on the Mac there is no record of what you have downloaded. That being said I have used the product for many years and have had no problems with my taxes.
What's great about it: very thorough easy to use
What's not so great: wont let me pick any folder or create a new one to save files

Turbo Tax Deluxe

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and the software has gotten easier to use and has automated more processes. I found that if I need any assistance Intuit stands by their product. Excellent people to talk with to help resolve any questions. A very nice product!!!
What's great about it: Very EZ to use.. gets better every year
What's not so great: None that I have found
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The problem assistance is poor. If a problem is identified in the review process, figuring out how to correct is hard, at times. At these times, the help was of NO value

REF Turbo Tax 2013

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. It has served me very well. The ability to link to previous year is a real plus. The use of a "dialog" format allows you to input your information without concern for the form usage. I have recommended Turbo Tax to others for years. If you keep & understand your records in terms of income & expense, the dialog within the program makes it very simple & accurate to file your taxes.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Following all the forms can be difficlut

What's great about it: FASTEST , VERY INTO DETAILS.
What's not so great: NONE.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easier for Long Time User

As a long time user, I began with Turbo Tax when there were video clips on the CD for each section of taxes. I learned a lot about taxes in those years. I think I would have a much more difficult time if the first time I used Turbo Tax was in the format of the past few years. The help is there, but I think I can only follow it because of the earlier versions of Turbo Tax.
I did have one specific problem this year on my state return. Turbo did not designate my retirement plan income as from the state's retirement plan and finding what to mark in the interview questions for my state return was confusing.
However, overall I like Turbo Tax and trust it. Also like the access to "Its Deductible" for tracking clothing donations to charity.

What's great about it: Calculations and placing resonses to questions into forms .
What's not so great: Need to be more proactive for help. State return issue
