If you do your own taxes, this is a must. Step-by-step instructions and detailed information in hyperlinks take the confusion out of filing. What was especially helpful was knowing at an early date that I owed, so I could delay filing until later. I rarely face that situation, so it was a bummer to find out that if you pay by credit card it costs you an extra 2.39%...which basically negates any bonus perk you may have from using your card.
What's great about it: Easy to use, automatic updates, e-filing options
What's not so great: Fees

2013 1040a return

Repeatedly tried electronic filing. Filing failed citing updates available. Downloaded and applied updates twice, but got the same message. I was not prepared to file by mail. Had already discarded my 1099R B copies, so had to copy personal 1099Rs and send in the one I was supposed to keep.
What's great about it: Ease of steps
What's not so great: Would not allow electronic file

So Simple!

I have been doing my taxes with Turbo Tax for over 15 years! Each year it gets better and easier. The "See Help" sections are easier to understand and offer a lot more information than they used to. I will continue to use Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Income & Deduction/Credits are broken down into catagories
What's not so great: None

Simple and Easy

I like knowing the details of my tax return and don't trust tax preparers with my information, knowing all my financial details or properly completing my filing. TurobTax's simple interview process and functionality allows you to review or do over sections, which allows for maximum tax breaks. This year I even got a refund. Filing my state taxes was even simpler!
What's great about it: Maximizes information available from previous years returns
What's not so great: Still have to do them (taxes)

Works for me every year

Have been using TurboTax for as long as I can remember and will not go back to a paid preparer as long as it continues to work for me.
What's great about it: Makes the hassle of filing a much more orderly event. Like the fact that the installed copy doesn't timeout.
What's not so great: Went with an installation copy, but would be nice to have available on other computers.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Generally, this Turbo Tax program was straight-forward to use. It becomes easier year by year and I love the way it imports records from the previous year. I just wish the Federal Tax code wasn't so complex
What's great about it: Detailed consideration of possible income sources and deductions
What's not so great: adds time to the effort
