Turbo Tax Deluxe

I've been using TTax for years. The greatest feature for me
is the ability to transfer information and data from the
previous year to the current return. This eliminates the
need to input redundant information and greatly speeds up
the process. And at the end of the return, the review feature
and error detector are fantastic.

What's great about it: Ease of moving from forms to step-by-step.
What's not so great: Hummm...Can't think of any negatives.

Made my way through some deep waters

I've used TurboTax for a lot of years -- I've never had it make a mistake, and it's saved me from making some. I like to look at tax forms to see how the calculations are made, which is easy to go back-and-forth in this. One thing I wish, though, is that it was easier to do "what-if" scenarios in step-by-step mode --which might require it not being step-by-step.
There's a new "simple" way to do office in home, and it would've cost me if I used it. I only accidentally went back to get some numbers put in and went down another path -- over $3000 in expense difference. Now, I'm not sue how much difference it would've made in total, for a number of reasons, but maybe they can explain it better.
What's great about it: Can do step-by-step or look at forms,
What's not so great: Wish it were easier to do "what-if" scenarios, office in home almost went wrong
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good until I had to efile

Kept getting error msg saying I couldn't efile because there were updates to load. I loaded the updates and kept getting the same error msg even though i had all of the updates. Had to go to troubleshooting link for Mac computer. Had to take out CD, restart computer, launch from application folder, download the updates for a 4th time and then it finally worked. Very frustrating!
What's not so great: not able to efile on Mac computer without troubleshooting
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

First time doing my taxes in almost 20 years. Everyone said it would be easy and for the most part it was until………The last button to file and BANG!!!! Validation error…..delete hours of work.
Needless to say I am not a happy camper.
What's great about it: Relatively Easy to do
What's not so great: Bugs that deleted my work.

2013 tax forms

I have utilized Turbo Tax for many years and have been very pleased with it. I can't imagine why you saw fit to change such a basic practice as having the ability to print and save a copy of the return at any time in the process of completing the return. That decision could very well cause you to loose a lot of customers next year.
What's great about it: Completing the forms with your promptings was easy and quick.
What's not so great: It is inexcuseable for you not to allow the printing of a copy to review prior to submission!

Easy to Use

I find Turbo Tax to be a fantastic tool, but I ran into one snag this year. You recommended that I use the sales tax instead of the income tax on Schedule A, but then said the form wasn't available. After I obtained updates, however, I thought sales tax had been deducted. Since it wasn't, income tax should have been used. I didn't realize this until after I had submitted federal form to IRS. As a result, I lost $5 in refund money on federal return and $30 on state return.
What's great about it: Asked all the questions-Great Guidance
What's not so great: Confusing on State Sales Tax Issue
