Problems e filing.

Not enough visibility and easy transferability between the info entry and the applicable form.
State calculation of my rental property that I converted back into my own residence showed I sold the house when I really didn't sell it. Couldn't get a fix. State return showed a huge loss but it didn't matter since loss doesn't count on state return.
Finally, my returns would not file electronically for some reason. Quite annoying and time consuming, printing, mailing, etc.
What's great about it: Good coverage of all deductions
What's not so great: Multiple tries e filing failed, even tho downloading updates each time according to Turbo's instructions

Probably the best program for do it yourself tax prep. Some knowledge of the tax codes and a lot of knowledge of your own situation are still required. Organization year round speeds the process.
What's great about it: Consistancy, accuracy
What's not so great: not all explainations were clear
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Another year...

Going thru the categories went quickly, almost too quick.
Even though I went through each section, it seemed to jump over the biz expenses. I had to go back and find what I needed in the forms.
For what we pay for this one-time-program, state filing should be included.
What's great about it: Went quickly
What's not so great: Skipped over biz expenses. Paying for state filing.

Taxes can be so confusing with all the forms. Thanks for taking the guess work out of this process and moving us along step by step. Still hate doing taxes, but this certainly takes some of the pain out of the process

Fast Five Refund!

To expand on the con, in order to edit the charitable contribution address, it takes you through the whole list of donations.
Small issue, but only con I had!
Liked the overall ease of the program and navigation. Very fast and easy to understand the steps. I've been using Turbo Tax since 2009 and it it keeps getting better year after year!

What's great about it: Fast and easy! Less than Five hours from start to finish
What's not so great: Lack of deduction edit capability.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
