Mac users frustrated

The comments and answers suggested my problem was specific to Macs but I don't really know if that's true. Maybe PC users had this issue too. The issue was not being able to transmit for e-file because the software couldn't recognize that I had already updated. This was super frustrating and took some time to track down the correct solution. I would have been done an hour earlier if not for this. So I have to give low marks this year. I didn't have this problem last year.
What's great about it: TT makes it easy to fill out your tax form
What's not so great: Mac users have frustrating experience with software

Turbo Tax 2013

I've been using TurboTax for several years. Each year's version is easier to use and covers more than the prior year's version. I have had no problems with it, and I feel more confident preparing and filing my taxes with TurboTax than I would trying to do so on my own. I would rate the 2013 TurboTax version as excellent.
What's great about it: Easy to use; covers little known tax deductions
What's not so great: None

This is my first time I've used Turbo tax. I am so glad that I did. It was fast and easy. everything was explained in detail. It actually found some deductions I could have been using all this time.

Mostly excellent - with one quirk

I have been using Turbo Tax for longer than I can remember. Makes a simple process out of a disaster of a Federal Tax Code. A very well made piece of software that installs, loads, and operates very easily and quickly. Unless a miracle happens and the income tax is abolished, I'll be back next year!
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks you through the process in a logical manner.
What's not so great: Claimed I needed a second state when the two states in question each had reciprocity agreements in force.

Always easy. Especially like being able to itemize charitable contributions. I should do that all year. I don't agree with some tax laws but that's not your fault.
What's great about it: Being asked questions, step bu step and transfer of last year info. Like comparison of years also.
What's not so great: Wouldn't let me take away a child care contribution credit that I don't have this year. Check stayed.

Failure to distribute funds (RMD)

I have been quite concerned since I learned last year one of my investment funds failed to act on the requirement to distribute a minimum amount to those over 70 1/2 years. They sent 2 1099R's for the last two years with the proper withholding and included an apology and a letter for me to send to the IRS asking that I not be penalized 50%. Your program recognized this penalty problem and stated "Don't worry we'll handle it later". There was no further reference in the program and no penalty addressed. I've e-filed the returns. I guess I just wait for the IRS to catch the problem. It would be helpful if your program had attempted to give me some advise. Your long time customer continuing to wait and worry.
What's great about it: Excellent program covers almost EVERYTHING
What's not so great: Minimal

Way to Go!

Turbo Tax is thorough in that you are helped with everything that can possibly apply to you. I appreciated the question format of completing the forms. This is also the first time I've ever e-filed. TT took the mystery out of it for me. I'm looking forward to filing with TT next year!
What's great about it: Loved being "led by the hand" on each step. Largest refunds I've ever gotten were fantastic.
What's not so great: None
