Gets easier and easier

I've done my taxes on TurboTax (and its predecessors) since 1987 and each year the process has become easier. The interface with Quicken is crucial, but it seems Intuit is abandoning Quicken for Mac. If that is the case, TurboTax's usefulness would be diminished.
What's great about it: Smoother interface every year. Interface with Quicken speeds the process immensely.
What's not so great: Tries to slip extra-charge offers in. Would like to see state e-filing included at no extra charge.

Could be clearer

Program has too many screens and is not particularly user friendly when you are trying to find a particular screen.
I believe the program should provide more background explaining calculations such as why all deductions are not usable, and where you lie within a tax bracket.
Overall, a very useful program that I have used for many years. Fist time for e-file -- which took a while to get through all the govt. security obstacles.
What's great about it: transfer of previous year info
What's not so great: too many screens, some are confusing

Turbo Tax gets easier every year. For the price I don't see why people would go to an accountant (unless it's a family member doing it for free).
What's great about it: Simple and quick.
What's not so great: Having to owe the Feds.

I have used TT for 10+ years. Never had an issue or problem with it. Prior to computers I would do taxes by hand and it was very onerous. I find that TT is easy to use and feel that anyone with some computer experience could benefit by using the application. The walk through for the different categories make it easy to get through the process. The best part to me is the ease of use.
What's great about it: Easy to use; Imports data from previous year return;
What's not so great: State tax e-filing should be included with the purchase. Too expensive.

Step by Step process

I have used Turbo Tax for over ten years and each year the step by step process gets better and better. Moving around the program is easy and the accuracy is excellent. I will continue to use this program in the future.
What's great about it: Continues to update forms and information
What's not so great: State E-file too expensive

If you do not have complex returns, this is the only way to go.

Love TT, ease of use.. except my husband has a salary deferral into a simple IRA.. there was NO place to put this info in the step by step area.. finally found it in the forms section.. now I have to do an amended for past years

What's not so great: needs to have a place in the step by step for simple IRA's
