I have been using Turbo Tax for over ten years and I have never been disappointed. They cover all the little details and unusual subjects for both the Federal and State filings and they keep improving the program each year.
What's great about it: Easy and complete

2103 Turbo Tax disappointment

Turbo Tax worked as usual for gathering and processing the information but e-filing dod not work. You charged me for e-filing the state and it still did not work. You owe me for the state e-filing since I had to file by mail.
What's great about it: Able to quickly document my tax requirements.
What's not so great: Not able to e-file, charged for state and it did not work.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Transferring data from previous year, walk through guidance and calculations good.
When printing just form 1040 always prints out smart work sheet .. don't want it also other forms print supporting work sheets don't want them either.
Estimated Taxes to go in and edit amounts always causes a problem for me. Can't recall specific situation right now but have problem with this every year may apply to any edit after leaving a topic.
If a refund due and you want to apply to next year it asks how you want it applied ... if no or partial refund requested and balance left over exceeds one or more ES payments the overpayment should be applied to the first ES payment because that is when the government gets the money and stops turbo tax from assigning tax penalties for underpayment. If payments do come out correctly the final review or analysis says you don't owe and are not due a refund thus seeming to ignore that there was an overpayment and that it was applied to next year.
It would be a welcome feature for a contact number not a recording or forum to be added for problems encountered with software use. I was assigned an underpayment penalty from TTAX which I knew was incorrect and could not for the life of me find where I could contact turbo tax and speak with anyone. I paid the penalty and called the state, they checked my taxed and sent me a check. I could not contact fed and decided it wasn't worth the effort as it was a small penalty.
What's great about it: Transfers previous year data
What's not so great: Printing, Work Sheets, Estimated Taxes, Applying overpayment

2014 stat & fed tax prep

Had no problems until it came to the "prt & save" section. I went to the help section, downloaded adobe free pdf reader. still could not prt as no prter icon showed up anywhere. I finally went to another program.. Nuance's PDF reader and prter. After I printed up my returns I went back to Turbo to finalize. I have used Turbo at least three times in the last 5 yrs. And I will use them again.
What's great about it: It is easy to use, does not let you claim what is unclaimable.
What's not so great: had trouble prting returns, let me save as pdf but not prt.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I found the final steps to filing to be somewhat confusing. Printing the final document was wasteful. I did not want the ink and paper of estimated 2014 tax. I would prefer to choose if I wanted to waste time, paper and ink and not have those forms automatically included when I choose print. I couldn't tell until the very end if my state tax filing was included in the software I purchased.
What's great about it: TurboTax is fairly easy to use and is respected by financial professionals
What's not so great: Actually filing tax return is confusing

As a senior filer, I was not sure that I had filed and did not complete filing until I checked with one of TurboTaxes phone helpers. An alert flag is needed to state, COMPLETE YOUR FILING... ONLY ---- DAYS UNTIL April 15th...
Last year I had no problems filing with TurboTax..
What's great about it: The information taken was proceseed promptly.
What's not so great: I was not alerted that I had not completed filing.
