Frustration

I spend the money to do the electronic Utah State Return. However, after spending the money, you still have to do the mail to do the final paperwork, which is very misleading.
What's great about it: Helps figuring out taxes

Turbo tax delivers a phenomenal product at a great price. Steps the user through each of the required entries with ease. Like having a personal tax accountant come to your home and ask questions. E-filing couldn't be simpler or easier. Thank you for a great product!

A Great Way to Ease Into Taxes

A great program that helped me on the first time I filed taxes for myself. Not only does it help you do it quickly and easily, if you take the time to actually read through a lot of the details, you can learn quite a bit about taxes and how to possibly reduce yours in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Straight-forward, Educational
What's not so great: The UI is very white. Starts to hurt your eyes after a while.

Unbearably repetitious reviews of completed items. Absurdly expensive fee for electronic filing of state return vs a first class stamp.
What's great about it: Intuitive, easy and complete.
What's not so great: Keeps going over completed items, exorbitant electronic state filing fees

I am so glad there's Turbo Tax! Gosh, I don't miss the paper forms at all and I feel like Turbo Tax eliminates a lot of the guesswork in doing my taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate

GOOD and BAD

One of the notes was that IRS is still getting their act together. Well this is Apr 6- do I have to wait until Apr 15 for TT to resolve issues and changes. Otherwise TT is great- have taught friends to use TT who had NEVER done a 1040 by themselves. Note fortunately they did not have any trades to worry about. Also what is the TT note about IRS willing to accept a brokerage statement? Is IRS really going to review every 1099-div from every broker? Does not make sense to me. And does that mean the T/P does not enter the trade or the div
What's great about it: Excellent for guiding both the experienced and novice thru the 1040
What's not so great: Handling of Sch D and stock sales was horrible. There was a time when you could enter data and see Sch D as a match
Pros: I bought or sold investments
