Peace of Mind!

Turbo tax is extremely helpful to process returns. This software gives much peace of mind as it covers EVERYTHING for a very reasonable fee.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process to guide me and to prompt gathering of specific information for the tax year.
What's not so great: Very little cons of Turbo Tax... very easy processes to follow with each division of tax items.

Next Best Thing to an Accountant

I have used this product for over 5 years and love its ease of use and simplicity. It has taken me through an IRA rollover and will take me through short sale next year. I also like how it doesn't take me but a half day, at most, to finish. The fun part is stretching it out so my wife thinks I am struggling with the whole process. :) In all sincerity, this is a good strong program for getting your taxes done.
What's great about it: So easy to fill out the forms, it knows me!
What's not so great: Have to pay for State filing.

Easier than filing by hand, but needs work

The most annoying thing about Turbo Tax is that even when you tell it you want to "work on your own", it continues to step you through silly questions one by one. It needs to display all of the questions on a single screen and let you choose to answer the ones where your answer would be different than the default.
What's great about it: Much easier than filling out the government forms by hand
What's not so great: Won't let you skip annoying questions that don't pertain to you
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

My Taxes 2013

The turbo tax program has been my tax filing program from the very beginning of computer software for the home. I have random checks done by friends in the accounting business, they find no faults for the methods and results I get from Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Great Program been using since inception
What's not so great: This year I owe.

The review process seemed will covered. I used a state service also, however when the info transferred it left a bunch of blanks in the state return. Also in the printout I was given pages that I don't understand and have yet to determine why I received them and what they mean.
What's great about it: The review process seemed good.
What's not so great: Every year I pay for the process and I keep seeing it available for free. Why do I have to pay for it??

Success with tricky refund, but why force Premier?

I've used Turbo Tax since 1997. The guided entries were thorough and easy to follow, but sometimes difficult to return to a particular question once I had gone past it. I am DISAPPOINTED that some relatively simple stock situations - figuring cost basis and capital gains - requires Turbo Tax Premier, for an additional $30. Since I only had a couple of stocks, I elected not to purchase this additional capability, and I would think that a longtime buyer like me should be allowed to get this upgrade for less money.
Also this year, I actually called support and had a pleasant experience. It was time consuming, but the rep was a pro.

What's great about it: Handled some tricky situations (excess contributions, gambling winnings)
What's not so great: This year, I had to upgrade to Premier to handle simple stock situations
