Nice job!

When I completed one section (in income for example) and clicked 'Done', I would have to scroll down to find the continue button.
What's great about it: Catagories were bundled well, I got through the ones that didn'y apply very quickly
What's not so great: Minor format problem - see below

great step by step process

have your basic documents ready when you start, if you can import info from financial institution it makes really easy.
What's great about it: i feel confident that the taxes are done right, great step by step process
What's not so great: a bit cumbersome moving from Federal return to state return

NO PLACE TO WRITE IN 16A. DIDN'T SEE CLEARY WHERE TO INSERT MY OVERPAID TAXES OF LAST YEAR. IF I COULD DO THIS OR FIND OUT HOW TO DO THESE, I WOULD E-FILE. AS IT WAS I HAD TO GO TO IRS FORMS AND PRINT OUT MY OWN. BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO PURCHASE TURBO TAX BECAUSE IT REALLY PERMITS ME TO GO THROUGH EVERYTHING. BY THE WAY, WHERE DO I PUT MY "RELIGIOUS MILES" DEDUCTIONS?
What's great about it: LIKE THE WYA IT GOES THROUGH EVERYTHING!
What's not so great: DOESN'T HAVE PLACE FOR EVERYTHING I CAN DEDUCT

Almost Great Tax Prep

I used Turbo Tax every year. It is a methodical approach for my relatively simple income tax filing. I did find that it was a bit confusing to do short-term and long-term capital gains transfers from my 1099-B forms, but that was a minor issue. Overall, this is a great product.
What's great about it: Methodical, step by step review
What's not so great: Stock sales were confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Alabama state return has errors in it. Alabama does not tax pension income. Turbo Tax brought that over from federal.

Saves time but concerned about quality

TT is a great product. It certainly allowed several days of tax preparation to be completed over night. However, I ran into a flaw in VA taxes which was not addressed in time. This forced me to file manually, and I couldn't efile state taxes. I would also like to add given the issue with the state taxes I am concerned quality might be slipping... I had similar experience last year.
What's great about it: Easy to complete taxes; TuroboTax does all the hard work.
What's not so great: Technical issue in the program was never fixed; couldn't efile state taxes; additional state cost

Thanks to TurboTax I have learned a great deal about filing my taxes. In addition the program allows me to work on my taxes at whatever time of day I have time. This beats having to miss work to schedule an appointment with a tax professional. Thanks TurboTax!!!

Very easy to use; Simply input data as requested screen by screen. Can go back and review/edit data at any time. The software will also question you if any answer is potentially an error. Unfortunately like most services there are additional fees for additional services. The fine print on the box will mention these but is easily missed i.e. supports state e-filing for a fee. Overall an easy to use program and cheaper than an accountant for relatively uncomplicated returns.
What's great about it: step by step prompts for answers/data
What's not so great: extra services are additional fees
Pros: I bought or sold investments
