Pros And Weakspots of TurboTax

I' ve used turbo tax since its inception stating of a Apple 2 e I can tell you that the attention to detail and thouughness of the program is outclassed by none.I don't knw if Icould do my taxes and find all the forms needed without it. It Also can save a lot of time. Just remember garbage in and garbage out. Pay attention to the questions and the answers
My biggest complaint. It would seem to be designed to be fail safe by leading you around with very little flexability. For some that may work, for me it can be very cumbersome jumping from section to section and then trying to return. The choice of hold my hand and go on your own #not exact words# is nice but I would prefer the features offerd years ago were you could pretty much back up and then go forward anywere in the form

I hate to do taxes

This is my 11th year using Turbo Tax. It makes the painful process of filing taxes a bit more tolerable. I personally like to know what's going on in the background, so I dislike the "flying blind" feeling that following the steps through Turbo Tax gives me. And the worst part is doing all the paperwork to enter one number on the Turbo Tax screen. Nonetheless, I don't know of an easier way to get through it. I plan to continue using Turbo Tax in the future as it's the best tax product that I know of.
What's great about it: Got it done in two days
What's not so great: It's like blindly following a GPS without knowing your next turn.

I'll buy another software next year. I save doing my own return.
What's not so great: Once return is done, cannot go back to the return to add or remove items.

What's great about it: easy, easy, easy, love the import features
What's not so great: the instructions of what to do if the IRS forms were not ready was confusing and it's hard to ask you a question

Easy as Pie!

Don't pay High CPA fees! Turbo Tax is easier than gathering your info to give to a tax preparer.
Love it! Will never use another method again.
What's great about it: everything - walks you through the process, leaves no questions.
What's not so great: takes a few hours but worth it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax makes tax time bearable

I have been filing with TurboTax for about 15 years now and I have great confidence that my filings are correct, complete, and that I have been prompted to supply all pertinent data to minimize my tax load. This year I had 4 occasions to contact TurboTax support individuals and all of my questions and concerns were handled competently and professionally by personable representatives. There may be no way to avoid taxes, but at least TurboTax minimizes the pain.
What's great about it: Great customer support, accurate completion of necessary forms, and trustworthy computation in all the boxes
What's not so great: Changed marital status and there was no auto merge of carryovers for myself and my spouse..
