DO YOU KNOW YOUR NAME AND INCOME

HAVE BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR LIKE 8 YEARS NOW, A VERY GOOD PRODUCT FOR TAX PREPERATION.
IT'S HELP ME ELIMINATE SOME POSSIBLE ERRORS, AND CUT THE TIME I SPEND ON TAX WORK BY 90%.
i WOULD GLADLY AND WITH ENTUSIASEM........RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO OTHERS.
THIS IS NOT A BIG THING, BUT SOMETHING THAT COULD SAVE TIME AND POTINUAL ERROR ON RETURNS AND IT'S COME UP FOR THE LAST 3 YRS DOING MY TAXES...........
THE DATA SYSTEM THAT COLLECT INCOME INFO FROM MY INPUT AND THE 1099R ENTERED HAS NOT DIFFERENIATED TAXABLE INCOME FOR FEDERAL, AND MY STATE RETURNS.
THE ONLY INCOME MY WIFE AND I HAVE ARE REPORTED ON 1099R FORMS AND SOCIAL SECURITY 1099.
MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH RETIRED STATE EMPLOYEES, AND BEING SO .....THE AMOUNTS ON THE 1099RS ARE NOT TAXABLE BY OUR STATE, AND NEITHER IS SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME.
HOWEVER THEY ARE ESTIMATED AS TAXALBE INITIALLY BY THE TURBO PROGRAM.....AND THEN I HAVE TO GO BACK AND SHOW/INDICATE THEN AS NOT TAXABLE ON THE WORKSHEET AND FORM
IT STILL PAYS TO BE ON YOUR TOES AND LOOKIN FOR MISTAKES BUT ITS A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN THE OLD WAY LOL.
THANKS, FOR MAKING TAX REPORTING, LESS OF A HEADACHE AND TIME SAVING PROCESS
PEACE2ALL ,
What's great about it: BASICALLY EASY TO USE.....ELIMINATES A LOT OF THE WORKSHEETS, YOU, YOURSELF HAS TO COMPLETE
What's not so great: I DID HAVE TO TWEET WITH THE TAXABLE INCOME INFO IT GENERATED

Using Turbo Tax saved me entering old data again. It picked up from last year's file. All calculations were automatically done. I didn't like the statement that I am getting the biggest refund when I owed taxes. The tax free capital gains were combined with the ordinary gains. That was confusing. I had to look at the form 1040 to see that these two were separate. Turbo tax needs to work on these two issues by next year. Otherwise I enjoyed using the software. I have been using it for the past five years.
What's great about it: No more manual calulations
What's not so great: Message that you got biggest refund was not applicable since I owed taxes.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

top-notch product and worksheet

Product was easy to navigate. There should be a tip to indicate that 'worksheet(s) are calculating computations and will be reviewed upon completion of each section'.
The 'update' category should be announced in the tutorial to ensure product is current with forms, etc., or at the least have a warning to check for updates before beginning a section. Identify the location for 'update' in the toolbar section.
Overall an easy software package to navigate, less strain on the nerves, and it is clear what form line is needed with its amount to be placed on.
Worth the investment.
What's great about it: "Guide" is best informational to use to visualize all sections
What's not so great: worksheet calculation not easy to locate for review. update software alert??

This was very stream-lined and easy to use. They walk you through each step. You always know where you stand for your refund or tax. They never "talk down to you'". It is much more affordable than having an accountant do your taxes. I will definitely be using them next year and recommending this to everyone.
What's great about it: User friendly

Good program but one exception

I enjoy using TurboTax to do my taxes, but this year I think there was a serious oversight.
If you have a 'basis' for IRAs, you are not led into form 8606 as in prior years. You have to search and search, and finally resort to going to the online help and asking about it.
Thankfully, the answer there leads you to the correct place to enter the appropriate info.
Otherwise, a good tax program.
What's great about it: leads you smoothly through the process
What's not so great: One oversight (bug?) explained in review
Pros: I moved

If you are not savvy in tax matters with time and access to IRS publications (with their bureaucratic sterile language). Turbo-Tax is not much help either, as it "parotts" the same IRS words (no value-added). Although considered SME, I use the long-winded time consuming option of "step-by-step" to reduce error risks only to find that I took "the wrong fork in the road". Its Deductible borders on being a joke. If you have to sign off in the middle of the process, signing on again will get you to a data set that you may have not seen before!! One data set accepts three levels of donation conditions (good, medium, poor) and the other data set accepts only the first two states. The prices in the two sets are vastly different. God help you if you need live support, life becomes a very dark place trying to find a "Human" to talk to. This seems to be a hallmark of the Intuit corporation regardless of what it peddles: Turbo-Tax or Quicken. Pray for serious competition to take hold.
What's great about it: Automated Calculations and recalculations
What's not so great: Explanation of entries is or more confusing than no explanation!!
