I have used TurboTax for at least 8-10 years. It has been easy and makes me feel like I am doing all the work myself. It is great to be able to print out the return and it look professional. I will continue using it next year. Thanks for a great product.

Turbotax Deluxe 2013

We have used Turbotax for many years and worked great for the basics but struggled with specialty needs. I would recommend it for basic taxes without reservation.
It is great that TT pulls in prior year information and Its Deductible as well.
We had some special circumstances this past year and will continue for next year.
We filled in the forms 3 different ways and each time TT was happy. We had to do a lot of research to identify the correct way to complete the forms.
We have always done our own taxes -either via computer software or before that time -by hand.
Next year, will probably get professional help for our complex tax situation and then in a couple years return to TT.

What's not so great: Difficult for specialty needs and no clear direction on correct method of completing forms

Excellent Product!

I have used Turbo Tax for a few years now and will continue to use it in the future. I like the simple walk-through of the product, and I feel confident using it. It's affordable, especially when I used it not only for my husband and my taxes, but for my working children as well, since they allow you to do up to 5 returns. Thank you, Turbo Tax!

when exile i kept getting a message stating you need to do an update and the program was in a read only window. dragged to applications and had to force the program to shut down on a couple of time before it would check for an update just plan old sucks

Cons:
1. 2013 Turbo Tax doesn't do charitable mileage calculation.
2. Can't do multiple 1099-R forms from the same retirement fund automatically--each one must be entered by hand.

Be Patriotic and File

I used Turbo Tax program to file my Federal Return. The process was relatively easy. Saves a lot of time versus doing it manually. Cheaper than going to a Professinal CPA or Income Tax firm.
What's great about it: I obeyed the Filing Law
What's not so great: Paying more taxes
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbotax slips up!

Generally good and helpful but missing extras to save time. When entering forms mode should highlight form corresponding to the step by step on the screen. If you do not pick electronic submission of forms the Step by step does not lead one through printing and mailing in state forms. Cannot find why my state refund amount from 2012 is different from the amount entered on NJ 1040 line 50. If I had not used TurboTax before I would probably not use it again.
What's great about it: does the math for me
What's not so great: No Step by Step for mailing in state return, tedious and repetitive checks and promos for unnecessary services
