A smooth and easy process!

Like anything else, you have to be prepared when you start the process. Make sure that all of your tax documents are organized. I used H&R Block a few years ago and they ask all of the same questions that Turbo Tax does. The big difference is that they charge for each form used, so I ended up paying 4x as much as I would have with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: The question and answer format makes tax preparation easy.
What's not so great: None that I can think of.

I like doing it with Turbo-Tax. I would have liked an up front list of items to get ready to input. as I had to exit to get info at times. I forgot about tax preparing cost of last years TT & Chiropractor are examples.

Not Quite Seamless

For the first time, TurboTax let me down. Sent me in an endless loop to update CD-rom installed TT-Deluxe to be able to complete Fed&State returns.
In past years, updates grabbed seamlessly. No hassle.

Be good to state upfront charges for iCloud, etc. Could decide immediately if worth buying
Had to skip TT for 2013 b/c computer only 32-bit; new iMac now worked fine. wish TT software had.
What's great about it: Easy to enter all our data
What's not so great: missing Schedule D took 2 hours to finally nail down. WastedTime

Took the stress out of preparing my Taxes!

This was my 13th year using Turbo Tax and it was up to the task of deciphering the tax code and prepared my return with no problems. I particularly like the comparative features: THIS year versus LAST year entries. It helped me catch a mistake in where certain details were to be reported. I also like the ability to switch between "Easy Entry Q&A" and the actual tax forms. This also helps to ensure the numbers are going into the right place on the forms. Finally, I appreciate the auto-update feature that keeps Turbo Tax current with last minute changes to the tax code. Great job!
What's great about it: Met my lofty expectations. Great job, as usual.
What's not so great: I couldn't find anything that I didn't like.

Fast Filing 101

We have used TurboTax to file our taxes for several years and we love how easy it makes this tedious and otherwise complicated process. It walks us through every step of our return and asks questions to help us find areas we might otherwise wrongly report or miss altogether.
What's great about it: process simple, "more info" helpful, laid out well
What's not so great: having to re-input info when returning to a section

Once you gather the papers like need to do if you have you taxes done by a CPA, the rest is very doable.

I've been using Turbotax since it was invented by Bob Chipman.
It very good but still needs improvement in explaining what is required to correct errors. It created a problem for me by asking for an entry then later telling me it was incorrect. I wouldn't trade TUrbotax for another program.

Terrible handling of excess 179 deductions

The handling of excess section 179 deductions is horrible with little explanation in the program or online. This is apparently an error in turbotax that has existed for years. Otherwise I would rate it higher. I have used TurboTax for many years.
