2014 Return

I have used the Turbo Tax products for years and find it just gets better every year.
What's great about it: Ease of Use - Walks me through all items with useful pop-ups with information.
What's not so great: Does not allow me to select amounts of Quarterly payments for next year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I was really pleased with how easy it was to complete the tax returns for federal and State tax, The on line help was really great and assisted me with questions and additional deductions I needed. Really easy to print, retrieve file and save for records. I used it last year and plan to use gain next year. I will never go back to other sources for my tax returns.
What's great about it: Was to complete all three Tax refunds for my family members sucessfully

IF I COULD USE IT ANYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE IT. THE IMPORT FROM FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS MADE THE REST OF THE WORK A SNAP. ALSO IF YOU USED TURBO TAX IN PRIOR YEARS, A LOT OF TIME IS SAVED BY IMPORTING THE INFORMATION FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. i HAVE BEEN USING T.T. FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW AND IT SEEMS TO GET BETTER EACH YEAR.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE
What's not so great: DIFFICULT IN GETTING ANSWERS TO SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

This year using Turbo Tax was just OK

Have been using Turbo Tax for 10+ years. The last two years I could not run Turbo Tax Via a disk and had to download from the internet. Because the files that were saved to my computer were not .tax files the previous years information could not be uploaded to the 2013 return and had to be manually input. There was no indication when doing the 2012 taxes that any future returns would require that files be saved as .tax files to enable the transfer of data. If there was it was not made clear enough to me. I was told there was no way to convert my pdf files to .tax files. When doing my Iowa taxes it was difficult to determine what information/data was required. The definition of what some things were was not very clear or explained in a way that made it clearly understandable. Some of this data probably would have transferred from the previous years forms had I been able to transfer data. The customer service people that I communicated with were very helpful and did a good job of helping me resolve my issues.
What's great about it: Customer Support
What's not so great: Data Transfer, Explanation of terms

Great Product - One Issue

For the past few years I've had problems with the Health Insurance Premiums part of the Schedule A. This year, as in the past, both my wife and I have our BC/BS insurance premiums deducted from our annuity (there is a 1099-R for each of us). My premium was transferred from the Form 1099-R Summary, Line 42 and on to the Medical Expenses Worksheet, Line 2a; hers was not. We had to enter it directly on the Medical Expenses Worksheet, Line 2b , because a zero appeared on Line 42 for her. It took a lot of sleuthing to discover what had happened. Admittedly, her Form 1099-R, Box 6, included both Medicare and BC/BS premiums, but there was no question or warning that it wasn't being transferred to Medical Expenses Worksheet, Line 2a. That would have helped.
What's great about it: Have used TurboTax for years - Great Product
What's not so great: Health Ins. Premiums were not transfered for spouse

Quick and Easy

Easy to use even for a retiree, not computer savy. Most of the unique questions were the fault of our complicated tax code, not your product. I guess they were necessary.
What's great about it: Asked me questions for stuff I would have missed
What's not so great: Many questions on unique stuff few need
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Done & Done Right

This is my 5th year with Turbotax and every good thing I have heard about it is still true. The import from previous year(s), makes it seem like an old, trustworthy friend, but, alas, one whom I've lost. A new, unskilled techie wiped away everything that ever existed in my computer's memory so I had to pretend to be a newbie again. It won't happen again---I had him "taken care of"---know what I mean? Anyway,it has been (almost), a pleasure to do my taxes with your fine product. But I have to wonder, where do you keep the individual who KNOWS all those IRS regs? Do they know anything else or does someone have to feed them?
What's great about it: Nicely thought out; attention to detail; very reassuring.
What's not so great: Got a little confused with getting the right info into investments.

Could not file well

Considering asking for money back. Had to somehow find 104CR. Schedule Kansas S, could not get in balance except after repeated tries. Seems to me when you select income from another state, that 104CR would automatically show up.
Schedule S practically failed trying to get info. passed over from 104CR.
For reasons unkown it was hard to find selection to have refunds applied to 2014.
Picture item (last thing) does not even work. What's happened?
What's not so great: 104CR and S
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
