Excellent experience, we have been using Turbo Tax for 10 years, and the only trouble we have had was when we placed a decimal one digit off. IRS didn't like that. We fixed that and paid taxes due and a small penalty and have not heard from them since.
Turbo Tax works good for us and we feel confident in the accuracy of the return.

What's great about it: Walked us through everything we had questions on.

Great except for Minnesota state return

Federal worked great, but the Minnesota State Tax return still needed an override for line 19 on M1M because the Qualified Charitable Deduction from the Federal return was included on this line -- the QCD was added to other charitable deductions from the federal.
TurboTax fixed the income line for the QCD on the M1 but not on the M1M form.

The easiest way to do taxes

I love Turbotax, and use it every year. It makes it simple to do our taxes and get it done nice and early.
What's great about it: Simple, quick and I could finish weeks before April 15
What's not so great: Customer service may have a long wait (20 mins)
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

A Little More Complicated Than I'd Remembered

Overall, Turbo Tax is great! I will continue to use it in the coming years and always steer people towards it.
That being said, I was trying to deduct work-related expenses of home office and car use (I had received payments for some of the miles) and it just became so cumbersome that I gave up.

Worth the Money

It's worth the extra money to install TurboTax on your own computer. In the past I used an online version and had problems figuring out how it was filling in the actual IRS forms.
What's great about it: Handles all investment complications and data downloads very well.
What's not so great: Accidentally truncated one of my investment downloads.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Masterful App

I've been working with TT for years. I like it. It is easy to understand and well formatted with a comfortable process flow.
What's great about it: Covers all the tax implications with understandable descriptions.
What's not so great: Causes you to answer the same questions when revisiting an previously completed section.
