When I imported tax info on stock sale from brokerage company, the acquisition date wasn't included. I added that later, making it long term capital gains. TT kept the data in short term gains and did not report an error. I manually moved data to long term capital gains and it then (properly) reported no errors. I think TT should catch something like this.
What's great about it: Ease of use.
What's not so great: Missed calculation on capital gains.

This was exceptional this year. Ease of input and it going to every form makes me feel more comfortable.
What's great about it: Quick, easy

Could be Improved

Overall, TurboTax was easy to use, but it lacked a convenient way to print out the required state return to file when not using e-filing. An option to print out the state paperwork required for filing should be available.
What's great about it: Easy to use even for complex returns.
What's not so great: Printing for state filing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Need better state information, or links to state websites that allow you to download instructions.
What's great about it: Good Fed info
What's not so great: State instructions very weak. Had to download instructions from the state site.

25 Year Anniversary

I started using TurboTax in 1989; so this is my 25th time to use it to prepare my taxes.
In the beginning I spent days writing everything down before I began entering the information into TurboTax. Today, I install the application, enter the data and a short while later I'm waiting for my return to be accepted by the government agencies.
I think my 25 years is the best recommendation.
What's great about it: Gets faster every year!
What's not so great: None...

How did we ever do this before TurboTax....... those long forms, doing the math and forgetting things Many nights and pencils. Was pure nightmare in the past.
