Excellent program

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years and stay with it because it is the best. The year to year transfer keeps everything organized and I don't miss any information. Also, the program has found deductions and credits that I might have missed on my own. It has paid for itself many times over.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and very thorough
What's not so great: Capital gains section is a bit confusing thanks to the IRS

Mmm not sure how to rate my experience

When importing W-2 I typed in a wrong number. Turbo tax wouldn't let me fix the error. Now I need to mail my return. This is real dumb. Editing responses is problematic. Every year I find some feature that is just plain irritating and near impossible to correct. I end up figuring a way around it.
I also find it difficult to opt-out of getting spam. There should be a box front and center that says "NO I don't want your spam" so you don't need to search for ways to opt-out.
What's great about it: It is getting a little better than past years
What's not so great: Some features are obviously written for the programmer and not the end user

Turbo tax is great. I really like it.
Something you can do to improve your process is to do a "itsmedical" which would be like "itsdeductible". I sure would like that as now I do a spread sheet of doctors, dentist, eyes, trips with mileage, then I enter the info and go back and forth checking it. I would like to enter it and than at the beginning of the process import it and all the lines on medical are filled in. Poof, I'm done.
Better yet, import insurance info and medicare info to it.

This is the best tax software that I have used. It has assisted me in the last 3 years to get back my maximum refund. It is worth the purchase price,
What's great about it: Explanation of all areas
What's not so great: Paying more for extra explanations
