Different than last year

Was still easy to use, but some areas were set up differently than before which made it a little more confusing.

three times it insisted there were new updates and three times I downloaded and installed them - in the space of ten minutes - yet the prompt to first download necessary/pending updates persisted and the program is not designed to recognize that it has the latest updates. Bad coding.
What's great about it: quick, thorough

State returns need mor work

The State product for Pennsylvania looks and feels like a generic program put together by a government worker. It does not ask enough, or the correct, questions. And the HELP provided is useless. I had to visit the PA website to get answers to my questions....... could have used their FREE online filing had I realized I would be there anyway.
What's great about it: Federal Interview works GREAT
What's not so great: State Interview too generic

20 Years of Turbo Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax for the last 20 years. I first started using it for business and now for personal use. I receive the maximum refund. I found the software easy to use. Turbo Tax walks you through the whole process. You just put in your numbers and it fills all the correct forms for you. I purchased Audit support for peace of mind. I have never been audited using Turbo Tax. I have direct deposit.My return is always accepted without problems. I will continue to use Turbo Tax every year for my Federal Return. We do not have State taxes in Texas.Great Product!
What's great about it: user Friendly, Correct Filing, Audit Support
What's not so great: Can't think of any cons.

Super quick tax filing!!

I've been using Turbo Tax for about 5 years now and loved it then, love it now. I'm an organized person so I have all the papers I need ahead of sitting down to use the software - this makes the filing process so very quick and easy. And for those who may not have all papers at their finger tips, there is the easy step by step process that will prompt you for what is needed. This easy guide process gives me peace of mind to know I'm not missing something and I'm thrilled with the fact that new features have given me more money than I would have had if I'd filed by hand. Thanks TurboTax!

emphysis has shifted to selling product stuff rather than providing software
'help' is handled by poorly educated (English) people
search for help products confusing
after 10-15 years may have to switch to someone else in 2014

Made doing taxes more pleasant.

While going through the program, it felt as if I was a pro at doing taxes. Each step is laid out so that it's easy to execute what is being asked for. Perfect for the layman who thought tax preparers were soooo smart. I just wish I used Tubo Tax earlier, maybe I could've saved a little money down through the years. It's a wonderful product!!!!
What's great about it: Love the language used, easy to understand.
What's not so great: Wish it included free federal and state e-filing capability.
