Needs fixing

When you make a payment you can print the page quite easliy, but to print what is in the file you cannot.
The origional program allowed for printing as you wanted not having to down load to a pdf file to print.
That to me is something that should have been addressed by INTUIT and corrected.
What's great about it: Transfered information from previous year and prompts for missed info
What's not so great: The icon at the top of the page to print DOES NOT PRINT you have to download to a pdf and print from there.

Turbo Tax is easy and thorough, but do not like paying extra to file State.
What's great about it: asks all questions and just fill in info
What's not so great: charging to file state

After all preparation program would not let me e-file federal return (try later or print for mailing)?? At this late date and you are not ready? Looks like it is time to be looking for a differnt tax program for next year!

I have been using TurboTax and previously MacinTax for almost 20 years. Is that possible?
I do not like to have to re answer questions if I go back and edit an area. The program should recall how I had answered the question before and let me make changes or not. Some answers are retained; some are not. It is a pain to have to reread the questions and answer them the second time.
What's great about it: Been a user for almost 20 years
What's not so great: Need to make it clear to print review copy before going into the efile section

A long time TTax user

I have been using TTax since back in the 1990's. Each year it gets better and easier to use. There is nothing on earth that can make doing taxes fun, but if you get all you paper work organized into income and deduction piles, TTax will at least make it very easy to input your data one topic at a time. You can save your file at any time and come back later as you desire. You don't have to sit there for hours on end unless you want to.
The last couple years they offer a feature where you can import any investment portfolio tax date directly from your broker. This eliminates any manual entry errors for this area.
If you decide to use TTax the following year, it gets better. All your personal info such as name, address, SSN, etc. will all be transferred to the current file. It will look back at the previous year TTax file (if you leave it on the hard drive) and it will tell you that last year you claimed such and such a deduction but this year you did not. It;s sort of a tickler notice that maybe you forgot about that item this year. It may or may not apply to the current year but at least you are made aware of the anomaly.
What's great about it: Super easy to load and run. Very nice step by step format.
What's not so great: At the end of the Federal Tax session there seemed to be endless checks and rechecks. of the return.
