I like the software and its presentation. I would like additional information on handling the RMD from an inherited or standard IRA. I did find my information but only through google on line.

We have been using Turbo Tax for many years after having a professional for a few years. It is about the same as filling out the pros questionnaire, except cheaper. This year I did have a minor issue when e-filing. Turbo tax didn't check for updates before filing and it rejected by return. After manually checking for updates and redoing a portion of my State return that was not saved (for some reason), I was able to e-file. Not a huge deal, but slightly inconvenient.
What's great about it: Easy to use, inexpensive

My suggestion

On top of the screen you show the amount of my tax due or refund after I finished inputting deductibles or credits. But once I reached the end, this number will not change, when I go back to previous screens. Can we keep the old number (at each stage) too along with the final number.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Have no idea what is my tax rate

Great Product

I don't know what I would do without TurboTax. Saved me from hiring a tax preparation outfit and dragging my info to them...Keep improving this product....
What's great about it: Ease of filing taxes. Could not do it by myself.

Turbo Tax 2013 review

Well done again, Turbo Tax 2013 for Federal. But for the state of VA, where you asleep at the wheel? It is hard to determine where numbers come from. Guidance is poor.
What's great about it: Federal is well done. Wouldn't consider being without it.
What's not so great: VA state is awkward with little help on where numbers come from.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Very satisfied until final step

I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe for several years successfully to e-file both federal and state returns until this year, when, after Turbo Tax notified me that my return appeared to be OK and had been successfully transmitted, I was shortly thereafter notified that my e-filed returns had been denied because my wife's SSN had already appeared on another return, which was news to us. After double-checking our SSN's on all the forms and resubmitting the returns online several times without success the only advice Turbo Tax could give me was to "check with Social Security" with no information about how to do this or where the discrepancy allegedly appeared. At this point I surrendered and sent in my same returns by mail, and I am still out of pocket for the state e-filing fee as of now.
What's great about it: Easy data download & input; running total always visible.
What's not so great: Not always easy to find way back to where you left off.

2013 edition worked better than 2012. Improvements

Process was easy to follow. Program stops one from imputing errors. Liked that.
I guess all the IRS and state updates were gathered. This year's edition did not prompt for updates each time I started up the program. That was convenient, but I wondered if updates were acquired. At one point, program stopped for updates and they appeared to have been downloaded.
