Keeps getting better each year, but 1 suggestion: Any short form tax return with $0 refund, $0 due should be a free e-file, Federal and State, especially if the taxes paid are also $0. For the most part, these will be from retired folk, up in years, who are not well off and have earned a break. By using your program, they are setting an example for the younger folk who may not yet be on-board the Intuit wagon of products; what better way of introducing them than TuroTax, in the hands of their grandparents.
What's great about it: Each year an improvement - great job
What's not so great: free fed e-file; Great - paid State e-file; boo!

e-filed why does TurboTax print so many copies????

I e-filed.... your program does not make it clear what I actually need to mail to the Feds.... CONTACT ME ASAP PLEASE,
What's great about it: not much - program is not very cohesive
What's not so great: prints too many copies and then asks you if you want to print more

Better every year!

My situation is basically very simple with Social Security income and IRA distributions. The ease of importing income information makes this a 1 hour a year chore. I keep coming back to Turbo Tax every year for the past 10+ years.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Simple interface. Always accurate!
What's not so great: Cost is going up each year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Some Difficulties With State Mail Refund

I had elected electronic filing. However, after finding the processing fee for the state, I decided to go back and do the mailing option instead. I was unable to successfully get to a point where I could actually print the state return and file it. So, I have no idea what happend. I am thinking that it was submitted. I am still trying to find a way to print the info for the state return. This has never happened before. I thnk something changed. I will keep searching for a way to print the state return for mailing. I still may have an opportunity to mail it. Not sure!

When reviewing, it goes to a specific box to be entered. It does not, however, show anything that helps fill the box ( maybe a reminder of what was entered previously on that topic). Without the entire worksheet to look at, it might take some of the guesswork out.

I have been using TurboTax for several years, will not change. Have recommended to family, friends and will continue to do so. The ease of use and quick help reference is why I continue to use TurboTax each year.

Uploading Updates

Tried to upload every time it told me there was an update. Consistently failed. Continued with the returned but it would not file because there were updates available. When it kept failing I had a notice saying I might need to manually file by mail. I did not want to do this since my credit card had already been approved for the state filing. Reuploaded 4 more times and this morning I decided to save and close the program and then it uploaded correctly. I am glad this was not occurring on April 15. I have used your program for at least 10 years, maybe 15, and generally find it easy to use and trustworthy. Why didn't it tell me to close the program?????
What's great about it: Finally got it done and filed.
What's not so great: I don't recall anywhere it telling me that I had to close Turbo Tax in order for the upload to actually be installed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
