Two major disappointments

It took me almost a week to work through the Foreign Tax Credit analysis of my K-1s. All of the information I had to re-enter through an incredibly enigmatic user interface was in the K-1s!
The North Dakota return software would not allow me to proceed unless I entered some K-1 data. Again this information was in the K-1. Why couldn't the software use it or at least allow me to proceed?

Return Problem

As an OPM Federal CSRS retiree, the contributions I made into my retirement fund are linerly amortized over a 20 year period. That means that my CSRS 1099 income is actually reduced by 5% of my contribution each year for 20 years. TurboTax does not clearly show how this is done, so a user such as I am required to adjust the Box 16b Taxable amount by the 5% manually. It would appear that TurboTax somehow has to work that calculation into the software for Federal CSRS filers such that the Box 16b is automatically adjusted.
What's great about it: In the aggregate, very easy to follow and use!
What's not so great: Does not handle Federal CSRS retirement amortization clearly

Made so easy!

Turbo Tax is a wonderful tax software. It does all the really hard work for you. I tried another tax software once because my older computer didn't support Turbo Tax. When I purchased a new computer I came right back to Turbo Tax. Now the other tax software company sends me free tax software, I refuse to use it. I save money by purchasing Turbo Tax and using it instead.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is like having a CPA with patience interviewing you. Turbo Tax asks all the right questions.
What's not so great: None

Slow but thorough

I have used Turbotax for the past decade and found it to be a good way to review my financial health and tax status,
What I do not like is that some versions of TT charge extra for state filing. Why?

Turbo Tax doesn't seem to miss anything. The concept of tax preparation is not within my realm of understanding or comprehension. Through each step of the Turbo Tax software I'm able to make sense of the whole process. I couldn't survive the tax panic without Turbo Tax.

quick, simple process. had to review an item though.
Wasn't clear how to handle an overpayment, by me, when doing estimated quarterly state tax payments.
