Wowed Me Again!

This is a darn good Tax Return software package that takes much of the confusion and time out of the annual DIY process.
What's great about it: Very orderly chronology for inputing information
What's not so great: After January timing of some updates. NBD!

Gets you there

Why can't Continue button be at top of each page so you don't have to constantly scroll down when an item doesn't apply?
When you import a previous year return why doesn't it import as much as possible - for instance I applied overpayment of Federal taxes to next year but TurboTax did not automatically import that piece of information.
What's great about it: Has good explanations of many finer points of tax law. Like the ability to go back and forth between steps and forms.
What's not so great: The interface seems a bit outdated.

Excellent! Helps me every year to prepare at my own pace and save the high price of going to an accountant.
What's great about it: Being able to skip and return to topics and or format
What's not so great: K1 entries are not always worded the same as the entries

My 13th year using TurboTax. Never a glitch and never a negative. Recommended for anyone who wants to be in control of their tax plan.
What's great about it: Still for the finest for savvy tax DIYers in a hurry.
What's not so great: none
Pros: I moved

Why do I buy Deluxe
on April 7, 2014

"Deluxe" used to do two helpful things:
1.contain actual answers to questions based on point of question within the TT flow, i.e., provide situational answers based on TT questions about the problem.
2. have an option to automatically update the software each time TT is opened.
Going waaay back TT included IRS pubs in the install process saving me from navigating the IRS website#s#.
Two years now, I've had to get IRS answers #from pubs# and then resort to the "forms" menu of TT to get the data into TT to finish the return.
Would have been easier to just have Intuit sell me a package of IRS e-pubs and e-forms.
So, why should I continue to buy "deluxe?"
What's great about it: eventually get my taxes done..post questions on Intuit web that get no response,
What's not so great: then use IRS website for pubs. then find forms in TT and fill them out
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Mary's Return

My mother passed away last year and when I went to fill out her 1041 for the closure of the trust I was informed I'd have to upgrade to 'Pro'. OK I get it. But then I was told 'Pro' was only available for the windows platform. People with MACs have family members die also. Now I have to go to an accountant at the last minute.
What's great about it: quick
What's not so great: lacking forms for MAC
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Missing form

Michigan form 4884 was not automatically updated with my pension data. It took me several hours to figure out how to input the data. It leads me to wonder if there were any other forms that should have been included. I learned of the pension exemption through a friend, not from you 'experts'.
What's not so great: what else is miissing
