I have used Turbotax for several years now. Truth is, I've never used any other software, so really have no basis for comparison or a quality review. It seems OK to me, at least good enough to keep my using it. That's really all I can say.

I like TurboTax better every year. It is apparent upon opening that there is a continuing effort to make this program easy, understandable, smooth running. Thank you.
What's great about it: Very understandable with "more info" buttons everywhere.
What's not so great: No cons. 2013 is better than 2012.

Excellent Software Package

I had a 401K contribution question and a TurboTax CPA assisted me with it, and helped me through all the corrections I needed to make on my tax forms. He helped me ensure that I had all the updates, and he reviewed my forms for completeness & accuracy. Top-notch professional assistance!
What's great about it: Easy to Use; Great Support; Bug-free.
What's not so great: A little difficult to speak with a service rep or CPA for assistance.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Federal Great, State (MT) Not so Great

Any "help" you click on in the MT portion is gives "no help available". Many items that should logically transfer from the federal side do not. Portions of the MT return seem to "lock" prematurely and cannot be cleared. The suggestions for deleting the completed state return in the Turbo Tax help do not work or the options are "grayed out".
What's great about it: Federal is slick and polished
What's not so great: State (MT) has zero help and limited transfer from federal

The difficult made simple!

This is the perfect program for anyone who prefers doing all the paperwork for personal income taxes.
What's great about it: Step by step process easy to understand
What's not so great: Having to enter all donations individually. There should be one page per charity to enter all details quickly.

Some problems downloading and asking to pay more after I already paid for the initial disk.
What's great about it: DIY
What's not so great: Some deductibles like charity to the church did not even credit
