Nice Software

Great software. I've been using it for almost 15 years.
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks you through the process.
What's not so great: Does not return you to the next area of questioning within the "tree" when you exit the previous set of questions.

When Turbo Tax for Mac

I like TurboTax and have used it for years. These last two years I have been very disappointed with this software. For some reason, it is not compatible with Apple Mac software. I cannot update when the updates come out. I have to call in and down load a new copy.
This year I could not e-file no matter how hard I tried.
Very disappointed.
What's great about it: Easy to walk through steo by step
What's not so great: Does not update with my Mac

Intutive?

Needs to be a lot more intutive and give giests of questions. I need understand the context in which the questions are possed.. Otherwise the questions are DRY and unrelatable.
What's great about it: Went rather quickly

TurboTax is Easy and Thorough

I always feel that TurboTax is thorough and doesn't let me forget any of my deductions. The program also helps explain each thing so I can be sure I understand. The walk through makes it really easy, too.

Smooth Running until the Finish Line

Completing my federal and state taxes was reasonably smooth. The application ("app") transferred a lot of recurring information from last year's tax returns. After installing this year's app on my MacBook Air it prompted me to download and install new updates before beginning the process, which I did. At the very end of the process, and after charging the state e-file fee to my credit card, the app was unable to verify and complete the e-filing. The page indicated that there were new updates that needed to be downloaded and installed before it could complete the filing. So I repeated the same steps that I did at the very start of the process with no change in ability to file. Thankfully, the app was aware that I had paid to file (the state return) and had not yet done so. I finally quit the app and relaunched it and only then was I able to complete my filing. That final glitch almost ruined the entire experience for me.
What's great about it: Copied a lot of recurrent information from my previous year returns.
What's not so great: Had a glitch with the electronic filing.

I think it was easier than last year. Maybe I am just use to using it.
What's great about it: Easy to Follow step by step
What's not so great: Since I am not smart I could have done with a few more explanations about areas to watch out for

I think there were a number of places you had to search 2012 information to know what answer to put down. Turbo tax should be able to pick up the info from the previous year and we trust the info is correct. It took we 3-4 hrs longer due to this. Please get a print screen button so if something comes up you want to print you can. We have been w/turbo tax close to 1 years and this year's edition I was very disappointed in,
What's great about it: nice to be able to download investment info
What's not so great: refinance points poor, 6251 prev yr should carry forward. Should have ability to print the screen as you go vs a wkshee
Pros: I bought or sold investments
