Finally Done!

More information needs to be added for specific information on college student dependents. I had to end up doing my own research to find out how to file my son's information since he has earned and unearned income. This could have been easier handled with a separate set of questions and guidance infomation. Instead your program said "you cannot claim your dependent's income with your return" and then went to the next topic.

The program was fine and easy to follow, but the phantom update before e-filing was very frustrating. It finally worked after I "updated" 3 times. I shut my computer off and then restarted. Problem solved.
What's great about it: prior yr info to compare. Generally easy to follow
What's not so great: e-filing difficulty because of phantom updates needed.

Taxes made easy

Doing my taxes gives me insight to what I need to be doing with my money better so that I can pay less in taxes and ultimately keep more to myself. It takes no more time and organization than if you had someone else prepare it all for you . If you ever have a question the help menus guide you through it with ease.

Suggestions for Improvement

It would be helpful if data on chartiable donations could be imported either directly from an Excel worksheet , or by a simple copy and paste into a TurboTax worksheet (e.g., chartiable organization name and associated amout donated)
It would also be a big improvement if the list of supported charitable organizations entered by the user could be permenently sorted alphabetically (or until otherwise indicated by the user).
Currently the list of supported charities CAN be sorted by charity name by clicking on the heading, but the list must be resorted EVERY time a new entry is made. It is extremely tedious for the user to reconcile/enter donations made in the current tax year against the charities supported in previous tax years (and thus in the TurboTax record), when the list of TurboTax listing of supported charities cannot be permanently sorted alphabetically.
What's not so great: Chartiable Donations interface is poor
