I've always liked Turbotax. I have used it for many years.
What's great about it: Loved the ability to transfer account data
What's not so great: No quick way to exit a process to continue

Continues to be the Best tax software I've used.

I have tried other tax software in the past, one from a large national tax service and one from another lesser known company. Compared to turbo tax, the other two were major disappointments. My wife and I are so pleased with turbo tax that we highly recommend it to others and would not consider using any other tax software.
What's great about it: Comprehensive, Easy to Use, Reassuring
What's not so great: None worth mentioning

1099-G

I received a 1099-G this year because of an overpayment of state taxes in 2012. You do not provide an option to report tax overpayment.
What's great about it: It covers most of everything
What's not so great: It fails on 1099-G

Highly Complicated Return Turned Easy

I had an extremely complicated return to file, due to an inheritance that included stocks, along with long/short-term gains. Turbo-Tax was an enormous help, an electronic tax-hero to get me through a seemingly impossible task.
What's great about it: Intuitive, easy to follow, powerful
What's not so great: Additional Options Pop In Only After Checking a Button
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

To many burried or hidden areas

Very difficult to go back and add or correct things when you can't see the sub areas under major headings - example: expenses associated with income reported on a 1099. A lot of question loops that get stuck looping - even at the end when when trying to finish and print, the software kept asking the same things over and over and over....... When finished and went to preview/print the software reported we had errors in our return, but when we changed the preview/print selection the error went away - shocked big time since we thought we were finished and nothing was ever reported as being wrong anywhere or at any previous check point. We decided to try TTax again after many years of using a professional service and to save some money, but after dealing with all the issues and bugs in this years product, I think we will be going back to the service. I also don't understand why they charge extra for an audit protection service - to me that really says the the company doesn't stand behind the software and it probably won't pass an audit review. The audit service should be part of the package, or they should really explain why we need it if they expect anyone to buy it. Wish I could find stats or the errors found in the software and the returns filed.
What's great about it: E-File
What's not so great: Very hard to find things entered that aren't considered to be major headings

Very easy and convenient

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years. It is very easy. It can be difficult when I have a special situation that doesn't fall into any of their categories. It is frustrating when I print out the forms for my records and I have printed 2 copies of my federal return. It is unnecessary when I am keeping it for my records.
I don't know if is the State that charges to e file or Turbo Tax, but I don't understand why I have to pay extra to e file my state return. Overall, I love Turbo Tax and would recommend it. I haven't tried any other tax programs to compare it with.
