Super quick and easy to use. My wife and son went out to watch a movie and I did my taxes before they got back! Can't beat that.

I have used TurboTax for several years. Way cheaper than hiring someone to do them, no appointment needed. Helps to give you a clear picture of your tax situation and educates you as to what you can do in the future to improve that situation. Doing your taxes is always a little stressful. No need, with TurboTax just answer simple questions by clicking a mouse and filling in a few numbers...DONE!
What's great about it: So simple, any monkey could do his own taxes. No teeth grinding!
What's not so great: One form my version wouldn't calculate. My fault, should have gotten Premier.

No value. The software doesn't do what it is supposed to do and there are no fixes. Very disappointing and will never recommend.

Some mistakes in TurboTax

Turbotax wastes much of my time because it asks for items that have no impact on my taxes, yet take much time - for example , it asks for what percentage of my tax free income is from different states, which can be complex and then in my State return (MI) that information isn't even used. Also, if I ask it to compute the estimated taxes for my state, it also computes them for the federal return even though I definitely don't need to file estimated federal taxes (refund last year and this year with no estimated fed taxes.)
Another example is asking for IRA information even though we don't qualify fo a deduction from for IRA contributions. The program should be streamlined.

What's great about it: Nice feature - table that lists comparison with previous year's data.
What's not so great: Has you enter data even when it should know you do not quality for a refund (e.g. for IRA)
