TurboTax works well for me. I like how it walks me through the different areas. I like being able to download data for investments, etc.

Not My Dad's Tax Process

I was remembering the tax process of my childhood. Dad put piles of paper all over the dining room table, then we all avoided them between January and March. Then Dad started planting the garden instead of doing taxes. Then Mom started getting edgy because she needed the dining room table for Easter dinner, 17 people were invited, and she was forbidden to touch the piles we'd all been avoiding. The annual quarrel that ensued was always a phenom.
Thank goodness for Turbo Tax! I get to use my dining room table 12 months a year, I know my taxes are done right, and there aren't those heapin' piles of paper all over--it's all nice and tidy on my C: drive!
Dad first taught me how to do taxes when I was 17 and first had income. The laws have become a lot more complex since then, but Turbo Tax makes it easy to do it right. Intuit staff deserves huge kudos and thanks for the well-thought-out process they have developed to help us all through "these difficult times:. Thanks for the dining room table, thanks for the peaceful household, and thank you for the peace of mind I get every year when this is done.
What's great about it: No More Piles of Paper! No More Quarrels!
What's not so great: It's still Taxes. Oh Well...

The 2002 Turbo Tax software was better unless ALL tax forms had changed that much.

Killed it!

Overall, Turbo Tax adds more value and makes it an easier experience year after year. When editing, a pop up to go to just that field or cell would be sweet
What's great about it: Lots of changes from last year- TT made it easy; solid questions, easy input
What's not so great: when reviewing or editing, have to go through all ?'s again and forget how I anwred them the 1st time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I have used Turbo Tax, both professional and individual version, for over 25 years. It is the easiest program I have tried. I feel confident in the preparation questions and calculations. Using it year after year makes carry over amounts easy to track. The program does it for you. I would highly recommend Turbo tax to anyone who needs to file a tax return.
What's great about it: Easy to answer questions; able to try different approaches
What's not so great: Unable to see all IRS forms, just the ones relevant to your return

I've used turbotax since it was first published. The software makes completing taxes easier and less stressful, especially when the tax situation is complex.
Help is always available, either in the software or online.
I have shared this experience with my children and in-laws. They all use turbotax now to complete their taxes, even for the simple situations right after graduating from college.
What's great about it: overall easy to use & thorough in its review
What's not so great: sometimes it is difficult to understand where the displayed numbers come from

Turbo Tax was easy to use. I found the extra info helpful too.
