2013 Taxes

I worked overseas for about 30 days in 2013 for my employer. When TurboTax asked me if I worked in a foreign country, I answered yes. I did not realize it was a question as if I worked for another employer in a foreign land. So I had errors in my TurboTax review.
What's great about it: Easier to use than years past
What's not so great: Foreign income tax questions are misleading

BAD over-ride check

Why wait until the e-file the final step to tell that an over-ride can't be made on a K-1 statement if one is going to e-file. I thought e-file was what this Turbo Tax is all about!!!

I use TT to file for three businesses and one personal return.
I also think the additional fee for extra state is too expensive.
What's great about it: great confidence in TurboTax that my taxes are correct.
What's not so great: state filing fee too expensive!

Another Year, More Savings

Turbo Tax is the best thing to ever happen. I hate dealing with tax people who work the storefront tax prep and don't know what they are doing. I don't like dealing with paper or the mail. I like that it's maybe 2 hours of time (I'm not well organized lol) and then over and done for the year.

Wish I Hadn't Procrastinated!

I put off doing my taxes until the first week of April, so for the first three months of the year I have been dreading doing my taxes. When I finally sat down and got to it, it really wasn't too bad. I have used TurboTax for the past several years and so a lot of information was transferred automatically for me. The questions were condensed into one short question usually with a "Yes" or "No" answer and then asked for additional info based on your answer. At various points throughout the process I could see this year's return compared to last year's return and that gave me "a red flag" if there was a big difference when there shouldn't have been.
I love the options for saving your return. I always print one and put in a folder for quick access and use for the following year's return and I save a PDF as an electronic Back-Up.
The last two things that are great about TurboTax is the "E-File" and paying for State "E-Filing". The Direct Deposit info and e-mail info is collected, then it switches you to the TurboTax website and you can pay for State "E-File" then switches you back your return and files it automatically. It does all the hard work and I just push a few buttons.

What's great about it: Easy to Use. I like the "Refund counter" at the top that changes when go through each category
What's not so great: Government related legaleze simplified by TurboTax is still confusing at times

Don't feel taxed!!

found it to be simple and straightforward...and if you can say
that about anything related to the tax codes, well, you must be
on some other planet. TurboTax is simple...straightforward... and it works. What more could you want...other than no taxes?

What's great about it: Easy...even my mother could do this.
What's not so great: Can't think of any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
