More difficult this year

After completing my taxes and intending to return to file later, all data was lost and I had to start again from scratch. Had trouble downloading updates and could not file with forms missing. Many hours later it all came together through no input from me. Please add reminders to save each section at least so info is not lost.
What's great about it: It is easy to go through and use
What's not so great: More difficult with saving data

TurboTax - Stress Reliever!!!

My experience with TurboTax has been a very good experience. I purchased my first home in 2013 and was nervous and anxious about filing my own taxes, as I was fearful I would not do correctly, or adequately understand what I needed to do, which may result in me filing incorrect tax document resulting in an entangled mess to clean up. This was not the case. I found guidance on the TurboTax program "comforting" and assuring, that I had done my taxes correctly.
I did have difficulty knowing exactly what numbers to pull from the HUD-1 forms that correctly reported the amount of taxes I had paid on my new home. I muddled through this process, then called the Title company representative, who guided me to a specific location on the HUD-1 Form to get this information. It would be MOST helpful if TurboTax provided this level of instruction or clarification in the online instructions.
I also encountered a concern and had to contact a TurboTax representative for assistance. She was VERY supportive, demonstrated wonderful customer service skills and assisted me in resolving my issue of concern.
Overall, TurboTax continues to be my program of choice to complete my taxes. I have been a loyal customer for many years now. Keep up the great work TurboTax staff!!!

Mostly good -- some improvement needed

Lost 2012 transfer return info and had to recreate it before starting on 2013 taxes..it worked great and was simple to do using 2012 pdf files. Transfer worked fine and the 2013 return was easy, even with itemization.
Don't know why you did not recommend an update vs an email for the missing sales tax form.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate and go back and forth between Q & A format and forms format
What's not so great: Did not ask to update in the beginning or when state sales tax information was missing. Had to wait until the end to up

i get a quick results, informative answers and common sense language that i can understand. i learn more every year about the taxes we pay.
What's great about it: walk through of all income and deduction categoried was easy

Slow response in TurboTax

Moving from form to form slow. TaxWise is much faster. Would not me over ride when I wanted to. Calculated a penalty and would not let me efile with including a penalty. You should let the IRS or the State request a penalty. It is not your job to tell me if I want a penalty included.

Paying less than I thought!

Our lives changed dramatically this year; my husband retired. I'm still working with a good income. We had a feeling that we would probably owe taxes, but were scared on how much. With TurboTax, we were able to walk through all the questions to make sure we didn't miss something.
Yes, we owe and we paid, but it's better than expected. Thanks TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy, as always

Excellent Tax Program

I've been using Turbo Tax for as long as I can remember. This is the only way to go for most tax payers. They have several levels of programs, depending on your need for simple for more complicated tax situations.
Intuit continues to be the best.
What's great about it: Step-by-step process with ability to see forms anytime.
What's not so great: Could use more explaination with state differences and how to make adjustment to maximize state refund
