Good experience using TurboTax 2013

This is my fifth year in a row using TurboTax. As in the past, I found the software easy to load and use. It is easy to back up a few steps to review, update, or make corrections. At appropriate times you may be prompted to check for software updates to utilize the latest changes that may be available, which I appreciate. Since I used previous versions to file in the past, TurboTax 2013 used appropriate data from previous filings as input to speed up the process for the current tax return. As a product improvement, I wish the cost of filing one state return was included in the TurboTax 2013 purchase price.
What's great about it: Easy to load and easy to use.
What's not so great: None

Getting harder to use TurboTax

Import of stock broker info is so nice and saves so much time!
Had to just not put in some foreign expense entries to K-1 form because TurboTax did not recognize the foreign income entries and kept giving error messages on review. Would not let me submit return and eliminating the entries was the only way to proceed.
What's great about it: Certainly a lot easier than doing taxes by hand
What's not so great: K-1 form did not work correctly

Simplifying Life

The only recommendation I'd make would be to clarify up front to the user the amount ($ or %) threshold that must be met for each itemized category. This would preclude folks from wasting time researching and tallying categorized expenses, contributions, etc. only to find out later on that they failed to reach the specified threshold say 3% of total income required to make itemization worth while. -- Hopefully that made sense. Cheers.
What's great about it: User friendly flow of presentation
What's not so great: None

Almost Perfect!

Excellent in almost every way. However, the software is confusing and frustrating at one spot in particular. The summary of deductions and credits page lists the deductions and INCLUDES the IRA contribution as regular deduction. Then on the same page we see that large amount ignored, and the smaller standard deduction being "used." ie., "Congratulations you are getting the standard deduction." It was only after a long search and final long wait on the phone that I learned that the IRA deduction is taken off the top of income, not used as a deduction in the normal way. That summary page is very confusing for us unknowledgable taxpayers.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Usually intuitive.
What's not so great: Problem with software handling of "deduction summary"

Not up to prior years performance.

Very much unlike my experiences with Turbo Tax in past years, system operations repeatedly experienced a loop which allowed no further processing or a logical way to exit. The only way out was to force a computer system shut down.
Thankfully, upon restarting, I could readdress my return at the point of departure, and carry on until the next system loop. This happened, probably six or seven times during my work with Turbo Tax.
As noted above, the final product was excellent, and the question and response options were very easy to work with.
What's great about it: Final product, successful tax completion, was outstanding!
What's not so great: System operation was disappointing. Several system restarts necessary.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Would love to see on the fly input to the paper forms. I know you can stop, save, and go look at the PDF image but if there was a link from each section to see how the forms are being populated would be nice.
What's great about it: The steps are very intuitive
What's not so great: Would love to see on the fly input to the paper forms.
