So Easy

I love TurboTax. I can't think of why you wouldn't use it. No matter what your tax situation is, there is no reason to pay someone to do your taxes. Just use TurboTax and they'll take care of everything.
What's great about it: Easy and detailed
What's not so great: You have to pay extra to e-file your State Return

Easy going but...

I've been using TurboTax since Intuit acquired it back in the 90's and for the most part this software is as advertised. As with all software there are a few areas that need to be improved on. The ones that I think require serious attention are the additional income and deductions sections. I think they need to implement the check off list that they used in the start of the preparation. This way the user does not have to spend so much time clicking on the next/continue buttons. Another area that I think needs a change is the investment income area where it ask about the type of stock income (A/B/C types). I'm not sure if this a TurboTax problem or my brokerage's problem. My brokerage list types A/B/C/D/E/F/G types where TurboTax only list A/B/C. It took me a bit to realize that TurboTax does not separate Long term investments from Short term investments like my brokerage. So if most of the brokerages are like mine then I think TurboTax needs to make the change. Other than those areas I'm pretty happy with the software.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use
What's not so great: Certain features can be improved

Great but....

Everything worked great until I tried to e-file. It kept saying I had to install updates, which I did 10 times. Finally I gave up and filed by mail.
What's great about it: Easy to use, asked all the correct questions
What's not so great: Could not get the e-file to work

I always use turbotax. It lets me go forward with tax questions and review earlier calculations anytime I want.
What's great about it: walkthrough is great
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

fast,effective, totally encompassing, makes sure you don't make a mistake that could cost you time and money. Have been using this since it came out and it just keeps getting easier. My accountant always had to file an extension now that is just a faded bad memory next step fix Obamacare.
What's great about it: so simple that the devevopers might be able to fix Obamacare
What's not so great: the developers weren't asked to fix Obamacare

LOVE TT -- Have used it for 10 years

I have used Turbo Tax for 10 years to prepare and file my federal and state tax returns. No, they haven't paid me to say this: I really do love the software. Many of my friends pay accountants and other financial professionals to prepare their taxes. I don't see the need to do that; the Turbo Tax software literally walks you through each step of preparing your taxes. There are even extra help windows if you need additional explanations about something. I'm certain that I wouldn't get any better service from having a tax professional do my taxes for me. With Turbo Tax, it's like having a personal tax professional sitting right next to you, one you don't have to make an appointment with or shell out a large amount of money for. I've filed my taxes electronically for the past several years and the process couldn't be easier or more secure. The Turbo Tax software takes care of that, too. When I think of all the years I would take the subway to the IRS building in Washington, D.C. or go to my local library and hope they still had all the tax forms I needed and then spend hours and hours filling out one set of forms by hand to do calculations and then fill in another set of forms as the "good" copy I would mail in to the IRS and my state taxation office, I wish I'd discovered Turbo Tax sooner. Since I have, I've never looked back. I simply buy the software each year, spend at most an hour doing my taxes, and I'm done. No sweat, no headache, and no making an appointment with a tax preparer. I advise you to do the same.
What's great about it: Detailed questions cover everything
