Cannot find or print my required quarterly tax forms. Took 2 tries to e-file.
What's great about it: Covers the bases
What's not so great: Still is difficult to use without basic IRS tax knowledge

Love Turbo Tax

I really enjoy this product. It interfaces so well with my work paychecks, my investment company website and is very user friendly. I love that it tracks prior years, so I can see trends and potentially look for area's I should be entering extra data (eg. Foreign bank accounts)
What's great about it: Easy to go through and go back to an area
What's not so great: Can't think of one

Did find the problem 'til went to file. Took time to figure out what the NYS wanted.
What's great about it: Most went fine
What's not so great: Box 14 was empty on my 1099R but was required on my state filing

Lots of questions and the option to "read more about..." really make me feel like the taxes are correct. When I was doing them by hand, I was always worried that I had missed a credit or missed something I should have paid. Now I feel like they are definitely right!

Don't pay to have your taxes done

No one likes to do their taxes, but Turbo Tax walks you through each step so you don't need to be a pro to do your own taxes. We have W2s, some small investment income as well as a home business and I am confident that our taxes are done correctly and we have gotten all deductions that are available to us.
What's great about it: Carries over key information from prior years; Walks through all the steps;
What's not so great: The first year takes some time to get through

Turbo Tax really helped

Could not efile because you insist I have some sort of foreign income property -- WHICH WE DO NOT!

Get download version instead of web version

I started out using the online version but had problems importing last years tax info. Customer service helped me switch to the downloaded version. It just works better and I can keep my info on my computer instead of on the Intuit web site.
What's great about it: Good customer service
What's not so great: Web version is very limited
