I have used TurboTax to file my returns for many years. It is easier than trying to understand the mumbo-jumbo jargon when you do it by hand, and is less stressful than waiting desparately for a CPA to call, wondering if you'll have to rush down at the last moment to sign and file your taxes. I like that the software gives you the freedom to work on your taxes any time you choose, and now that you can e-file both the federal and NY state returns, it means that when you are done, you are done! I also like that there is an app that will also verify that your taxes have been filed.
What's great about it: ease and ability of e-filing, saving, and printing; the add'l phone app that supports it

Surprised with Scholarship refund

Again you have delighted me with thorough tax preparation.
Took care of all college tuition,dorm,food, and 529 withdrawals and found the American opportunity credit (that I had seen a year ago and forgot about).

What's great about it: Figured all my sons 529 and tuition and found American opportunity credit for me.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Took a while, but so worth it!

The help I received from Erin over the phone was awesome. She seemed to know her stuff, and took the time to investigate my weird problem with the software. I ended up having to download the software instead of doing it online. But after a few clicks we were done. THANK YOU!

Good Program

Filling in tax forms, doing the arithmetic, and sending in the tax return has always been a daunting assignment. In my mind, TurboTax makes the operation a whole lot simpler. We've been using this program since 2007.
What's great about it: Solid interface and easy to use
What's not so great: None come to mind

Great tax software!

I've used TurboTax for years (in fact as a Parsons Technology product before TurboTax!). I've recommended to friends and family, and wouldn't consider any other software.
What's great about it: Ease of use, support and information when required.
What's not so great: Difficulty efiling - had to reload the program - a pain.

BUY TURBO TAX DELUXE AND YOU HAVE TO PAY TO FILE THE FED AND THE STATE. FORGET ALL THE FREE THEY SAY YOU GET-YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR WHEN YOU FILE . IF YOU HAVE TO PAY GET THE TURBO T ON LINE FOR FREE.
What's great about it: FAST AND EASY.
What's not so great: TOO MANY FEES TO FILE FED AND STATE

system froze up - called hot line and Cedric Ward spoke with me and spent a good half hour helping figure out what to do. Without his expert assistance and patience, we would have had to redo all of our tax preparation.
