I freely volunteered to give my review, but the boxes don't allow enough words/letters, and it is taking way too much of my valuable time due to your review requiring many "required" submitals.
What's great about it: Program's ease of use has greatly improved.

Slipped a little this year

After downloading and installing updates (in April) I continued to get the warning that one form needed to be revisited. In spite of updating the form and retyping the same information I continued to receive the warning.

The federal tax return is the best.
NJ state return would not allow me to delete the business form even though I didn't need it.

Turbo Tax Problems

Form 8938. TurboTax noted that I am required to file this form (potential penalty for omission: $10,000.00). But TurboTax did not include this form in my electronic submission. I must file an amended return.
This same problem occurred last year.
Form 1116. I paid foreign taxes to five countries. Your program allows only one country. When I tried to enter data for a second country, the program wipes out my initial entry.
I was an idiot for not doing my taxes earlier. I did not have enough time to figure out how to enter the data in Form 1116 manually. Cost to me: About $700.00 on my tax bill.
I could not find any way of contacting Turbo Tax directly for help. I would be willing to pay a fee to speak with an expert on your side who could have helped me with these issues.
My guess as to what's wrong on your side: You have inadequate knowledge of problems users are facing and so are not aware of these (and other) deficiencies and consequently cannot fix them as they come to light during the tax season. I'm sure you test each year's program carefully, but our tax code is so complicated it is impossible to catch everything. You do need a way to identify problems early in the tax season and for this you do need to make it possible for users to contact you directly.
My considered reaction: Turbo Tax, INC has become a smug, self-satisfied complacent outfit. I'm going to explore other tax services next year.
What's great about it: Wonderful interface. Very easy to enter or upload info.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax messed me up in two areas

Before requiring State E-file payment, it should be known to Turbo Tax that the State of Illinois will not accept E-file because of some additional forms. Now, you have Payment for a service I will not receive.

Fast and easy

I've used the program for a second year in a row. I would like for Turbo Tax to send a personal email reminder next year of my filings and possible refund based on history.
What's great about it: Very useful. Stopped using H&R Block
What's not so great: maybe a small discount for repeat users?
