So easy

We don't have complicated taxes (don't own a business or have lots of different tax liabilities), so Turbo Tax is perfect for us. It walks you through each step and lets you skip steps if you choose to.
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Had an accountant tell me he can always get a better refund than Turbo Tax

Display "Continue" button at the top and bottom of screen, and in the case of an extra long screen, add a button in the middle or off to the right so that continue is always visible without have to page down to the bottom of each screen.

Please include the It's Deductible utility in the Tax Program.
I had to use H&R Block Deduction Pro to categorize my charitable deductions.

Error 25300--Had to Re-do All My Taxes

After completing my taxes, and checking for errors (none!), I went into form view to look at one item on my federal return. When I clicked on "return to step-by-step," I got error message 25300--and the system refused to allow me to return to my tax return. The only way I could actually file my taxes was to start all over again and re-enter EVERYTHING. The system refused even to recognize the information I had entered in 2012 (which had correctly self-populated the first time I entered my 2013 information), which meant I had to do even more data entry. Clicking on "help" led me to an idiotic screen that told me I should check if my computer was plugged in.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Had to re-enter all my tax info

Filing Taxes Should Always Be This Easy

Filing taxes is my least favorite thing to do and I dread every April 15th. This year it seemed that Turbo Tax made it easier than ever. I finished my taxes and E-filed in record time. Now I just have to relax and wait for my refund. Thank you, Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Walked me through everything I needed to file a clean return
What's not so great: Can't think of a thing I didn't like

TurboTax is a great help in performing the calculations which would be next to impossible to do by hand in my case. The Step-by-Step feature works very well to make sure all your bases are covered. I still had to go to the worksheets directly in some cases though. For moderately complex situations the onus is still on the preparer to know many aspects of the tax code.
What's great about it: Made it very easy to deal with a moderately complex return. I could never do it by hand.
What's not so great: Could not get to certain parts of the Step-by-step the 2nd time
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Frustrated Me Greatly

I had some problems getting data entered in the areas mentioned but the help people were extremely helpful and got the problems solved. A very good product.
What's great about it: Does very good and acurate
What's not so great: Had problems with California sales tax entry and date rental put into service.
