I used to work in public accounting doing tax returns using Lacerte tax software, I completed the H & R Block Tax course, I used to work as a sales tax auditor for NYS Tax Dept. and briefly worked as an IRS Revenue Agent, so I know something about taxes. Turbo Tax makes completing a tax return so easy, fast and hassle free. Its the best product out there and at a very reasonable price.
What's great about it: The ease in filing taxes.
What's not so great: None I can think of.

*Reasonably thorough questionnaire/checklist.
*Annoying startup survey that repeats each re-visit time, unless it's completed.
*Expensive for almost the same [80-90%] software every year for repeat customers. It's like buying the same Windows or Photoshop or ?? every year.
[ Intuit should have one, startup pkg. and license fee followed by annual updates/revisions sold for a smaller/incremental fee!! This would assure customer retention and happier customers.]

E-File Didn't Work

When I tried to E-file the program kept on saying I hadn't updated the file. Even after I went back and updated and confirmed that everything was up to date, I still got this message. The program said "if this problem persists then you should file by mail". I was very disappointed that I had to file by mail anyway. I think a help contact should have been given rather than this message.
In general I find the documentation poor. There is really only documentation on how to use the program, and links to tax instructions are often non-existent. You can wind up paying more than you owe if you are not tax savvy because of this, particularly on the state.
I keep using it because it beats filling them out by hand, but I've considered that it might be simpler to file the state one by hand. In any case it is essential to switch to forms and double check them on your own.
What's great about it: Automatically fills in entries
What's not so great: E-file didn't work. Can cause you to pay more than you owe by not alerting you to certain items, particularly on state.

Easy to use

I've used Turbo Tax for years and it has been pretty easy, especially since I am not a financial wiz and do not look forward to income tax time.
