Glad It Is Done

I have used TurboTax for our Federal return for many years. For the most part I like it. However, I am an engineer, not an accountant, and I find some of the instructions confusing. Usually, after a while, I can figure out what they mean. Not a big problem.
Several years ago I tried the state version for our Colorado return, and found many errors or inconsistencies. Maybe our situation is not typical for that state. Nevertheless, I have not used it again, preferring to do that return manually.
What's great about it: Covers most of the situations that apply to our return
What's not so great: Instructions sometimes confusing

Saved me bunches

Excellent. Needs to have a little better instructions on employee mileage deduction for work related trips. Don't know total miles, exactly, just work related ones. I have filed expense reports with my employer (un-reimbursed) with the total work miles known. I did not know you would need total miles of all driving. You didn't use to.
What's great about it: Fast, simple
What's not so great: couldn't screen print things like the efile time and date--allow control p.

Needs help

example of problem. After pressing "done with..." button, the next screen always takes me back to the top of the screen not where I left off. Bring me back to where I left off so I don't have to scroll to it each time. This is bigger problem than you think. It's hard to remember where I left off.
If there are updates that have to be done tell me before I press the "file" button.
Don't nickle dime me on state returns. Give me at least two with the initial purchase.
Quit asking me to register after the first time. Annoying to the max.
There is no flexibility with the state program. I wanted to add/ change something after I finished. The only way I could do it was exit the program with a "do not save" selection and start over. Very bad.
What's great about it: I didn't have to do it manually
What's not so great: Hard to use when using self directed

TTax is right for all

Really easy to use. Great guided step by step. Very good help docs. Easy links to IRS pubs. Really gives you that warm and fuzzy (good) feeling when your done that all was done right and as good as it gets when doing taxes.
What's great about it: Step by Step, see all forms, manually do forms (if that's your thing) ...
What's not so great: none ... they got it right

I have been using Turbo Tax and love it every year. It is easy to use, detailed to answer questions, and is fun!
What's great about it: It is easy to navigate back and forth through tabs and screens.
What's not so great: Nothing...

Process Still Needs Improvement
