Easy to use. Doesn't cost a lot. Takes about as much time as going to an accountant.
What's great about it: Cost
What's not so great: None

I GUESS ITS PRETTY MUCH FOOL PROOF BECAUSE OF THE OPORTUNITIES TO GO BACK AND TRY AGAIN IN A CATAGORY WITHOUT GETTING STUCK. HELPS YOU CHOOSE THE BEST RESULT FOR YOUR BEST REFUND. THANKS AND GLAD TO BE DONE.
What's great about it: GOOD ATTENTION TO DETAILS WITH GOOD SUGGESTIONS
What's not so great: SOMETIMES WASN'T SURE WHICH PATH TO FOLLOW BUT I GOT THERE
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The software is very helpful for people to file tax. I really like it. But it is not friendly for people to want to file the state return by mail. In past years, the hard copy gave people an instruction sheet to do it by mail. Now I print it out and still not sure what to do. It seems the papers are incomplete ! Confusing. Why is it so expensive to e-file state return?
What's great about it: very thorough and complete, explains items well
What's not so great: not very friendly in printing out forms to file state return by mail. The software in previous years was more friendly

It is a very good program and I've used it for years, however, it is almost impossible to delete a mistake once it's made. It should be easy to delete an entry if you've put it in the wrong place. Also, it would be nice if, in the donation section, the various charities could be alphabetized. It has hard going through a lot of charities that aren't in alphabetical order. There were some places were it didn't tell you to "continue". Also, it would not let me print my tax return this year and my account was fully updated.
What's great about it: Good questions to guide you through a return
What's not so great: Almost impossible to delete an entry once it's made. This is not good since mistakes can be made.

Works better than my Accountant

I think what most taxpayers don't realize is that the hard part of taxes is just assembling the documentation of income, expenses and deductions. You have to do that regardless of how the taxes are prepared. However, once that is done, it is just a matter of answering the Turbotax questions and entering data.
My returns are fairly complicated, yet I can wrap up the data entry in an afternoon.. I think this is my 4th year using the software and so far I've not been audited.
What's great about it: Q &A Fill in the blank format
What's not so great: A few items not clearly explained
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've been using TurboTax every year for perhaps twenty years. If anything, it gets easier to do every year! Gone are the days of sweating over the tax return and the nagging feeling that you've forgotten something.
What's great about it: Detailed step by step guidance and layers of additional on-line references when you need it.
What's not so great: None that I can think of...

I've use TurboTax for several years. As the tax code became more ??complicated??... (I'm being kind!) it has become almost impossible for an individual to do their own taxes, even with TurboTax as a weapon.
I am retired, and still do my own taxes with TurboTax, but anyone with a distribution from a 529 plan, or capital gains where your investment payor doesn't provide the information to 'check the proper box--- A B D, Long term, short term, reported, not reported..... Give Me A Break!
There needs to be a moratorium on new tax laws, and (God Forbid) a flat tax to even the playing field.
Just my opinion!!
What's great about it: Carry forward info from last year
What's not so great: OMG, you almost need to be a CPA to decipher some of the instructions
