Simplifies an unpleasant task

I started trying Turbo Tax 20 years ago. I year I switched do to another one year due to some amazing deal. It would have missed some deductions had I not used Turbo Tax the year before and was expecting them. Never again will I switch. About 17 years straight with Turbo Tax now and still satisfied. I talked my brother into it for the first time this year. He was ecstatic. His accountant's fee was going up every year, and finally it was the last straw. He couldn't believe how easy it was!
What's great about it: I trust turbo tax to get me the best refund with the least headache.
What's not so great: I still have to do it every year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 a rough year

This version is in general an improved product over the previous year. The section for entering 1099-B is confusing and needs a lot of work. I hope next year is better. I would like to see more flexibility in choosing what to print or not print.
What's great about it: Gets simpler everry year
What's not so great: constant marketing of additional products

Great except for the re-install process

I think TT is fantastic but have one complaint: Right when I popped the CD in the computer I was prompted to install updates. I did that, then proceeded to go all the way through the tax process (State + Federal) and arrived at that final click, to submit everything, and rec'd the error message that I couldn't submit because there were updates I had to install! I did it *again*, dragged through the last bit of the process again, and received the same error message. I did some troubleshooting online, and found that lots of others had had the same problem. It seems you have to close the program entirely (and maybe even restart yr computer for good measure) before the updates will take effect. Maybe everybody already knows this but it wouldn't hurt for you to add a pop-up message, explaining that, so the person using your software doesn't have a panic attack when it comes time to submit.
What's great about it: Quick, thorough and efficient.
What's not so great: None, except after 2 reinstallations, still wouldn't submit the completed forms

Makes Doing Taxes a Pleasant Experience

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years now and I would never consider going to a "tax professional" to do my returns. Unless a person has a complicated return, I would suggest they try Turbo Tax. It will give them a great deal of satisfaction to know that they can do for themselves (for a cost of about $40 or $50) what someone else would charge them a few hundred dollars. It's a no-brainer!
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: I find going through all the categories a little tedious.
