Good but could be better

I've been using TurboTax for many years and am pretty familiar with doing my tax return. So I'm familiar with how TurboTax works, although they always tweek it somewhat each year, in addition to updating forms, limits, etc. This tweeking is somewhat annoying. It seems they do a great job at Federal. However, in doing my PA state, I need to be more careful and diligent that it's handling things correctly. One thing is the miscellaneous income from the Federal form didn't transfer to the State forms (I had to reenter the data). Also, I pay taxes in another state so look to receive a credit for that on the state return. PA treats my spouse and I separately, although Federal on a combined basis. I wish TurboTax checked to see if both my spouse and I received the credit on the PA return. I almost missed it this year, catching it only at the last minute review before filing. TurboTax should have at least a reminder and "error" check if claiming this credit to see if both the taxpayer and spouse have claimed it.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use
What's not so great: Didn't transfer miscellaneous income from Federal to PA state

It only took me a few hours to do my taxes, since they could pull in everything from last year. I had stock sales, education and new birth items to enter.
I also purchased the Deluxe download edition, which was supposed to come with the tax processing for one state, but didn't. So I called Intuit and they had it fixed in about 10 minutes!
What's great about it: Finished everything in just a few hours and even had to call Intuit in the middle to fix a software glitch!
Pros: I had a baby, I bought or sold investments

higher price for less help

My final complaint occurred while trying to e-file. I got all the way to the final screen before being warned I needed to update before filing. Then I had to go through a lot of previously entered info before I could get back to the final filing screen. That was after having to go through everything again when I wanted to print to a PDF file after doing so. The only option on that screen is a "back" button which takes you back to the beginning of the e-file procedure all over again. There needs to be a way to resume where the taxpayer leaves off. I also had problems earlier with a K-1 investment I sold during the year. Never did figure out the reason for an error, but I finally found a way to eliminate it.
What's great about it: Importing everything from previous years
What's not so great: Difficulty in viewing the forms as they would be printed while entering info

I have been using Turbo Tax since it first came out in the 1980's. It has always done a good job. It is more expensive than other tax prep programs but well worth the extra cost.
What's great about it: Comprehensive review of all tax related infomation

Turbo Tax works

Very simple to use with easy questions that ask you about any possible situations in you life that would affect your tax return. Directions are fairly simple as far as entering data from forms (W-2, etc.) and you can review what you've entered anytime. I also like being able to check my progress with the bar at the top and partial progress per section.
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions and step-by-step questions and directions helps me to see my progress
What's not so great: confusion as far as difference between 5498-SA & 1099-SA/contributions vs. distributions
