2013 taxes

I"ve used turbo tax for the last few years and am very satisfied.
What's great about it: ease of looking at and returning to each area of the return
What's not so great: can't think of any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbotax decline

I have used Turbo tax 20 years and it is taking more short cuts skipping pertinent information that requires me to go to forms to complete. The navigation of guide this year is worse than previous years and requires more looking to find what you need.
It is not easy to complete any items associated with self employment or foreign earned income or taxes.

not as easy as last year, seems like i had to look at specific forms more this time and compare to my forms from last year to fins some of the items to enter

Turbotax is a Solid product

Overall a good product. Using Turbotax for 10+ years now. Some years are better than the prior year and others take a step in the wrong direction. I think this year was a step in the wrong direction.
Two things were difficult about this year - when I do my taxes it typically takes 3 to 5 hours. This year was a little longer due to the relocation. In prior years I could stop working on the return, save the work, close the file, shut down the computer and then easily find where I had left off. This year I was forced to answer questions that I had already answered in order to get to the spot where I had left off. I hope this gets fixed for 2014. The second issue is with the W-2 completions - I filled in box ten with a 0 and filled the other boxes with 0's also. No errors, no alerts, no guidance. Then, when I got to the filing step and clicked on the "one final review" I got an error stating that the value in box 10, if less than $1, should be left blank. What? I moved this year and had seven different W-2's . . . so I had a lot of corrections to make. If I would have gotten this message after completing the first W-2 I would have saved a few minutes and clicks in completing the forms AND would have gotten the filing step done without having this review.
Otherwise good product. I hope next year is a step in the right direction.

Sales Tax Update?

The software gave me confidence I was "doing the right thing" as I entered various income and deduction items. It would have been helpful if there were a reminder that certain deductions need to exceed a percentage of my AG income. The software still seems a bit "clunky" in its interface but maybe that's because I only use it twice a year.
What's great about it: Reminded me of all the items I needed to enter and provided a clean data entry for the items I needed to enter.
What's not so great: The State Sales Tax deduction was not in the original CD and it did not update 'til I was almost finished with my return

Convenient

I've been using Turbo Tax of at least a decade but I am never sure if all questions are asked about my unique situation and we are all unique.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: I don't know if all pertinent questions have been asked about my unique situation

Tough return

I have used turbo Tax for many years, and it still rocks.
What's great about it: One of the K-1's was difficult to complete, otherwise no problem.
What's not so great: None
