Enabled Me to Survive Tax Season

Overall TurboTax is superb,i.e., the best tax software I have ever used.
There were two instances in which TurboTax let me down:
1) During the process, TurboTax gave me a commercial on how I could save money by making a contribution to an IRA. I went through all the entries, only to find that I cannot contribute to an IRA, because I am retired and had no "earned income." Given what I had entered already, TurboTax should have known that I had no earned income and could not contribute to an IRA this year. That would have saved me precious time.
2) My income in 2014 will be less than my income in 2013. In calculating my estimated taxes for 2014, TurboTax grossly over-stated what I must pay each quarter. In order to force TurboTax to do the proper calculations, I had to go on the support-community site and dig around to find that there is an obscure way to do what I needed. TurboTax should have provided that option AT THE POINT I NEEDED IT DURING ENTRIES.
What's great about it: TurboTax led me by the hand through the minefield of Federal taxes.
What's not so great: There were two instances of TurboTax's not giving me what I needed when I needed it.

Refund Due!

This program is so easy! I love the fact it checks for any type of deductions to give you the biggest refund due to you. Ive been doing it for quite a few years now and have never had a problem! Love it!!

Easier Every Year

I would never do our taxes with paper and pencil, and would end up spending a huge amount of money to pay someone to do them. Turbo Tax has improved each year in its simplicity...or perhaps I have become more accustomed to using it! If you can read and comprehend the questions posed, your taxes will be done correctly. Try it!
What's great about it: Step by step interview makes entering info extremely simple.
What's not so great: Can't easily locate where information ends up on the forms as you go through the interview process.

I had difficulty in navigating the unreimbursed employee expense section, especially for trading a vehicle. There was a form duplicated 4 times - had to go to the forms section and spent a lot of time figuring out how to delete 3 of the forms. It should be easier to complete this section.
What's great about it: Question format is good. Also, it is easy to navigate
What's not so great: trading a vehicle for unreimbursed employee expenses was confusing

The only way to go with peace of mind. Intuit Turbo Tax is the answer to the KISS principle with all the ever changing tax laws. The Turbo Tax questions were very easy to answer, even for the severely computer challenged. These folks have REALLY simplified tax returns. The cost you pay for turbo-tax is an investment for your own health. There's no more dreading filing income taxes.
What's great about it: Expert tax returns for real dummies
What's not so great: Nothing

It takes almost til the time to file to purchase a reasonably priced product. As a loyal Turbo tax user, we could be offered Turbo tax's lowest price.
