Would not pick up 2012 information from 2012 return. Also would not transfer information from a K-1 to the filing forms. Had to over ride and enter it myself on Schedule B and also gave problems with Form 8949 and Schedule D. Turbo Tax Deluxe should at least be sufficient enough to handle these types of entries.
What's not so great: Didn't transfer 2012 info. Won't accept K-i income

Part that discusses buying a house doesn't directly mention refinancing current home. Had to dig.
Suggestions: I would like to be able to stop during the tax process to collect info and then return to where I left off.
Union dues are deductible but never mentioned.
Had to google where to claim AK PFD income.
What's great about it: walks through step by step
What's not so great: would like to be able to stop along the way to collect info.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Everything was quick and easy, including getting carryover from last year...BUT...I was unable to efile my Fed return.
Each attempt, even after downloading the update I was told to download, got an warning that something or other could't be verified.
Perhaps this is because I had no payment nor refund...but if so, I should still be able to file.
What's great about it: overall worked well and quickly
What's not so great: couldn't efile fed return, even after update

Simple and easy. I don't know why most people would pay to have an accountant do their taxes.
What's great about it: Easier than last year. They simplified a few things.
What's not so great: Wish the state file was free.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes doing taxes fun!

I have been using TurboTax for years and will continue to do so. It makes filing my taxes easy and I have a lot of trust in the product. This year I needed to call support twice for some quirky installation situations and both times I got quick response and easy solutions. I am still very impressed!
What's great about it: Easy to maneuver, support is extremely helpful
What's not so great: I thought it would help me fill out W4

Very disappointed in how hard it was to load this software. I have used Turbotax for well over 10 years. I never had problems loading. I would have recommended it to everyone. Not this year. I will try you again next year. If I have the same problems I will never use TT again.
I know the issues were not with my PC. I do not have problems with any other programs. There are volumes of complaints on the net using a variety of OS.
I suggest you get it right next time if you want to stay in business.

Put my mind at ease

Overall I was very pleased this year. I had a special circumstance which prompted me to call since it wasn't easily explained to be put in a written question. As I mentioned above couldn't find a number to call so I called a number on the letter that said Turbo Tax was ready to download. The quickly got me to the first person who was suppose to assist me. He tried his best but realized this was a question that required a trained tax person, a CPA. It took a while for the CPA to get on the line but once he did and I explained my situation he came through with a good answer and put my concerns to rest.
What's great about it: Easy to put all the info in and really covered all the bases.
What's not so great: Not so easy to find the number to call for help.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
